Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting. Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those present that this Public Meeting was to obtain public comments with respect to a proposed zoning By-Law Amendment, pursuant to the provisions of the Planning Act, 1983, section 34 (12). The applicant has applied to rezone certain lands described as Part Lot 6, Concession 8, (Leach). To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro have not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to a Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the Public, Township Staff and requested agencies within the appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this application. Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on August 13, 1991, to all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands. Reeve Robert E. Drury then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating that correspondence had been received from the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, indicating that they hav no objection to this proposal; as well, correspondence was receive from the Simcoe County District Health Unit, also indicating they were not opposed to this proposal. The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment. Reeve Robert E. Drury then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner, Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment. Kris Menzies: The Rezoning is a condition of consent. The current designation of the property is Rural. The zoning By-Law is Rural. The Official Planning designation requested is to remain Rural and the Zoning By-Law requested is Rural Exception Zone. The Committee of Adjustment conditionally granted a lot addition from legal non- conforming Rurally Zoned lot to an abuttin legal non-conforming Rurally Zoned. The effect of the rezoning would be to rezone . l . , I' - 2 - Kris Menzies: the receiving parcel of Rural Exception, i order to recognize it as legal. The reaso why both lots are considered legal non- conforming is that they are under the minimum lot size required by the Township and the minimum lot frontage. The lot tha the lot addition effectively was taken fro would be considered a remnant parcel and would not require a rezoning. The Reeve after enquiring and ascertaining that there were no questions from those present, thanked those in attendance for their participation and advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a decision. He then advised those present that if they wished to be notified of the passing of the proposed By-law, they should leave their name and address with the Clerk. MOTION NO.1 Moved by Burton, seconded by Johnson Be it resolved that the Special Public Meeting of Council (Development Application P-12/91, Leach), be adjourned @ 7:42 p.m. Carried.
