Drury Deputy Reeve David Caldwell Councillor David Burton Councillor Alastair Crawford Councillor Allan Johnson Also Present Were: Ms. Kris Menzies, Mr. Conrad Boffo, Mr. Ro Sommers, Mr. Rocco Calautti, Mr. Alan Wayne, Mrs. Shirley Woodrow, Ms. Vivian Bell, Ms. Ann Budge, Mrs. Jacquie Besse, Mr. Robert Besse, Mr. Neil Hickling, Mr. Miles Hickling, Ms. Bernice Hickling, and Mr. James Zerny. Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting. Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those present that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments wit respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, pursuant to provisions of the Planning Act, 1983 section 34 (12). The applican has applied to rezone certain lands described as Part of the West Half Lot 13, Concession 6 (Livingston). To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro have not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the Public, requested agencies and Township staff, within the appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this application. Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on October 15, 1991, to all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands. Reeve Robert E. Drury then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating that comments had been received from the Simcoe District Health unit advising they were not opposed. The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment. Kris Menzies: The purpose of the Public Meeting is to allow Council the opportunity to hear comments from the Public concerning the rezoning application, prior to making thei decision. The subject property is located in Part of the West half Lot 13, Concessio 6. This particular property was subject t a severance under the qualifications that are afforded somebody in the Agricultural zone. The Committee of Adjustment was prudent to allow this particular applicant ,-. ,. - 2 - Kris Menzies: to receive the severance and the municipality requires in this particular type of severance that a rezoning take place in order to adequately look at the use of the property, as well as the size 0 the property. The applicant, as part of a condition of consent, has requested that the municipality rezone the property from its current Agricultural zone to Rural Residential zone in order to recognize the retirement lot that was conditionally granted by the Committee of Adjustment. The rezoning is permitted under the Official Plan and the particular consent adheres to all the qualifications of the Rural Residential zone. Alan Wayne: Where abouts is this lot exactly, North of the 15/16 sideroad, on the East side? Kris Menzies: Yes, it would be North of the 15/16 sideroad. Alan Wayne: How many acres is the property to start of with? Kris Menzies: The farm would have to be approximately 10 acres. There being no further questions or comments, the Reeve in closing the meeting, thanked those in attendance for their participation an advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a decision. He then advised those present that if they wished to be notified of the passing of the proposed By-law, they should leave their name and address with the Clerk.
