Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments wit
respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, pursuant to
provisions of the Planning Act, 1983 section 34 (12). The applican
has applied to rezone certain lands described as Part of the West
Half Lot 13, Concession 6 (Livingston).
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro have
not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to
this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the
Public, requested agencies and Township staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on October 15, 1991, to
all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands.
Reeve Robert E. Drury then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by
indicating that comments had been received from the Simcoe District
Health unit advising they were not opposed.
The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner
Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed
Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Kris Menzies:
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to
allow Council the opportunity to hear
comments from the Public concerning the
rezoning application, prior to making thei
decision. The subject property is located
in Part of the West half Lot 13, Concessio
6. This particular property was subject t
a severance under the qualifications that
are afforded somebody in the Agricultural
zone. The Committee of Adjustment was
prudent to allow this particular applicant

Kris Menzies:
to receive the severance and the
municipality requires in this particular
type of severance that a rezoning take
place in order to adequately look at the
use of the property, as well as the size 0
the property. The applicant, as part of a
condition of consent, has requested that
the municipality rezone the property from
its current Agricultural zone to Rural
Residential zone in order to recognize the
retirement lot that was conditionally
granted by the Committee of Adjustment.
The rezoning is permitted under the
Official Plan and the particular consent
adheres to all the qualifications of the
Rural Residential zone.
Alan Wayne:
Where abouts is this lot exactly, North of
the 15/16 sideroad, on the East side?
Kris Menzies:
Yes, it would be North of the 15/16
sideroad.
Alan Wayne:
How many acres is the property to start of
with?
Kris Menzies:
The farm would have to be approximately 10
acres.
There being no further questions or comments, the Reeve in closing
the meeting, thanked those in attendance for their participation an
advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a
decision. He then advised those present that if they wished to be
notified of the passing of the proposed By-law, they should leave
their name and address with the Clerk.
