Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting.
Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments wit
respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, pursuant to
provisions of the Planning Act, 1983 section 34 (12). The applican
has applied to rezone certain lands described as Part of Lot 6,
Concession 2, Reference Plan 51R-22317, Part 1, (Hickling).
To date, the Council of the corporation of the Township of Oro have
not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to
this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the
Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on October 15, 1991, to
all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands.
Reeve Robert E. Drury then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by
indicating that comments had been received from the Simcoe District
Health Unit and the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority,
advising they were not opposed.
The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner
Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed
Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Kris Menzies:
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to
allow Council the opportunity to hear from
any comments the Public might like to make
on the rezoning application. This
application is a condition of consent
whereby a lot by the Committee of
Adjustment was conditionally granted on
various conditional purposes. One of whic
being, that the applicant apply for and
obtain a rezoning which would recognize no

only the intended use of the property but
would suite the area dimensions and the
frontage requirements and so forth of the
particular zone. The rezoning requested i
from Agricultural to Rural Residential zon
in order to permit a retirement lot for th
farmer who owns the property. The rezonin
is permitted under the Official Plan and
the lot size, etc. follows the regulations
of the Rural Residential zone.
There being no questions or comments, the Reeve in closing the
meeting, thanked those in attendance for their participation and
advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a
decision. He then advised those present that if they wished to be
notified of the passing of the proposed By-law, they should leave
their name and address with the Clerk.
