Deputy Reeve David Caldwell chaired the meeting.
Deputy Reeve David Caldwell opened the meeting by explaining to
those present that this Public Meeting was to receive public
comments with respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment,
pursuant to provisions of the Planning Act, 1983, section 34 (12).
The applicant has applied to rezone certain lands described as
Lot 22 and 23, Concession 2, (Key).
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro
not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to
this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the
Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on September 30, 1993,
to all property owners within 120 metres of the subject lands.
Deputy Reeve David Caldwell then asked the Clerk if there had been
any correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded
indicating that confirmation had been received from the Nott
valley Conservation Authority stating they had no objection.
The Deputy Reeve then stated that those persons present would be
afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the
proposed Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Tow
Planner, Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of
proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Kris Menzies:
This property is located on the east half
of Lot 23, Concession 2 in the
municipality. This application is coming
forth, basically through the applicants
Council from the Committee of Adjustment.
When the Committee of Adjustment is
considering approval of a severance off
Agricultural piece of land for the
of a residential property, they

add the condition, if they see approval
with that severance, that the property be
rezoned to an appropriate land use. This
is because a small residential parcel
is severed off of a large Agricultural
parcel for the purposes of a Residential
dwelling unit, does not conform to the
Agricultural Zoning. As such, the
applicants have requested a rezoning from
Agricultural to Rural Residential in
to comply with the Township By-Laws.
The purpose of this evenings meeting is
allow council an opportunity to hear from
any members of the public who wish to
comment on the application.
being no questions or comments, when being called for the
time, Deputy Reeve Caldwell in closing the meeting, thanked
in attendance for their participation and advised that Cou
consider all matters before reaching a decision. He then
advised those present that if they wished to be notified of the
passing of the proposed By-Law, they should leave their name and
address with the Clerk.
