Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting.
Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments wit
respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, pursuant to
provisions of the Planning Act, 1983, section 34 (12). The
applicant has applied to rezone certain lands described as Part of
Lot 10, Concession 1, (Schnurr).
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro have
not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to
this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the
Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on December 31, 1991, t
all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands. Notice of
the Public Meeting was also placed in both the Barrie Examiner and
Orillia Packet on December 31, 1991.
Reeve Robert E. Drury then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by
indicating that one letter had been received from the Nottawasaga
Valley Conservation Authority stating an objection, as the subject
property is located within the willow Creek Floodplain.
The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner
Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed
zoning By-Law Amendment.
Kris Menzies:
The subject property is located on Part Lo
10, Concession 1. The applicants have com
and asked for a rezoning as a condition of
consent from the Committee of Adjustment.
The Official Plan designation on the
property is currently Agricultural and wil
remain Agricultural. The existing zoning
on the property is Agricultural and the
request is to rezone the property to Rural
Residential. The reason why this conditio
was placed on the severance which was
applied for, is part of

Menzies:
Township Policy is if the Committee of
Adjustment feels that the applicant
qualifies for a severance under the
Agricultural Policies, they are required
request of Council a rezoning of this
severed parcel to a Residential form in
which to have the lot comply because the
minimum acreage in an Agricultural Zone
one hundred acres. I believe the lot
proposed to be severed off was an acre or
less. The lot which is in consideration
for the rezoning adheres to the policies
the Township as well as the applicable
rezoning which is being considered before
Council this evening.
Deputy Reeve
Caldwell:
Kris Menzies:
Does the lot have rolling topography?
No, I believe it is fairly flat.
Reeve Drury:
Where is the lot?
Jerry Schnurr:
Across from Kenny's.
There being no further questions or comments, the Reeve in closing
the meeting, thanked those in attendance for their participation
advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a
decision. He then advised those present that if they wished to be
notified of the passing of the proposed By-law, they should leave
their name and address with the Clerk.
