Deputy Reeve Caldwell opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments
respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, pursuant to
provisions of the Planning Act, 1983, section 34 (12). The
applicant has applied to rezone certain lands described as Lot 24,
Concession 8, being Part 1 on Reference Plan 51R-22826, (Crawford)
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro
not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to
this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the
Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on March 12, 1992 to
all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands.
Deputy Reeve Caldwell then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by
indicating that a letter had been received from the Nottawasaga
Valley Conservation Authority stating they had no objection to the
amendment as the subject property is located outside their area of
jurisdiction.
The Deputy Reeve then stated that those persons present would be
afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the
proposed Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the
Planner, Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of
proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment.

Kris Menzies:
The purpose of the rezoning is to satisfy
condition of consent imposed by the
Committee of Adjustment and that
states that any person who qualifies as a
bona fide retiring farmer and is
conditionally granted a severance, must
apply for a rezoning to an appropriate
zone, to recognize the use. The subject
property is designated under the Official
Plan as Agriculture and it is currently
zoned Agriculture. The Council has
it and the subject of this Public Meeting
is a rezoning to General Residential.
subject property is located on Part Lot 2
Concession 8 and it is just outside the
boundaries of Oro station. If Council
deems it appropriate, after public
consultation, and feels that the rezoning
should be approved, this condition of the
Committee of Adjustment would then be
satisfied.
There being no questions or comments, the Deputy Reeve in closing
the meeting, thanked those in attendance for their participation
advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a
decision. He then advised those present that if they wished to be
notified of the passing of the proposed By-law, they should leave
their name and address with the Clerk.
MOTION NO.1

Be it resolved that this Special Public Meeting of Council
(Crawford, Lot 24, Concession 8, being Part 1 on Reference Plan
51R-22826) now be adjourned @ 7:20 p.m.
