Mr. Paul Eenhoorn, Fire Chief, was present to
discuss Ice Water Rescue Practices and Week-In-
Lieu of overtime.
(1)
Ice Water Rescue
The By-Law requires amendment to incorporate Ic
Water Rescue procedures and level of service to
be provided. A Copy of the Standard Operating
Procedures was distributed to the Members of
Council. A Draft By-Law is to be presented at
future meeting.
(2)
Week In-Lieu of Overtime
This portion of the deputation was held In-
Camera.
Ms. Holly pattenden was present with regards to
the creation of a community park in the Bass
LakejPrices Corners area. A parcel of land
(3.93 acres) off Joy Avenue was purchased
approximately five years ago by the Township of
Oro for future Park Development, provided there
was community interest sufficient to share in
the capital costs. The community has shown no
interest and preferred the lands left the way i
is.
Ms. Pattenden made a proposal to Council
requesting a portion of the lands be sold and
added to their property and perhaps the proceed
put into future Park Development of the
remaining lands. The additional land to be
added to the Pattenden property would be used t
maintain their drainage. A portion of the land
is zoned OS2 and the development potential is
remote. Council suggested such a request to be
made in the form of a letter to obtain Council'
position.
Mr. Henry Sander, Treasurer, was present to
discuss Development Charges By-Law and Act
provisions as it may apply to future
developments. Mr. Sander was authorized to
obtain a legal opinion from the Township
Solicitors, Aird and Berlis and report back to
