THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEOONTE
BY-LAW NO. 89- 15
WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Medonte has passed a
resolution, dated July 11, 1989, directing the undertaking of a
Study to review the Land Division policies for the Agricultural &
Rural designations as contained in the current Official Plan for
the Township;
AND WHEREAS Section 37 of the Planning Act, 5.0. 1983, as amended,
authorizes the Council of a Municipality to pass an Interim Control
By-law to prohibit the use of land, buildings or structures within
the Municipality or within the defined area or areas thereof for,
or except for, such purposes as are set out in the by-law while
such a study of Official Plan policies is being undertaken;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ENACTED as a By-law of the Corporation of the
Township of Medonte as follows:
1. That the provisions of this By-law shall apply to all of the
lands within the Township more particularly shown as being
within the Rural (RU) Zone, High Environmental Sensitivity
(ES1) Zone, and Low Environmental Sensitivity (ES2) Zone on
Schedule "A" attached hereto. Schedule "A" attached hereto
is a consolidation of Schedule "A", Maps 1 to 4, of Zoning By-
law No. 82-25, as amended.
2. Notwithstanding the provisions contained in Section 2.14,
2.15, and 2.19 of By-law No. 82-25, as amended, the minimum
lot area for all permitted uses as set out thereunder shall
be 40.5 hectares.
3.
Where a lot having a lesser area than required by the
provisions of this By-law is held under distinct and separate
ownership from abutting lots as shown by a registered
conveyance in the records of the Registry or Land Titles
Office at the time of the passing of this By-law, or where
consent to the creation of a lot has been granted pursuant to
the Planning Act 5.0. 1983, 5.52 prior to the passage of this
By-law, a building or structure may be erected, altered, or
repaired and used on such smaller lot provided that it
conforms to all other requirements of this By-law and the
regulations of any other appropriate authority.

Notwithstanding the provisions of this By-law, Council will
continue to process:
i) subdivision applications which are under consideration
as of the date of the passage of this By-law;
ii) Applications for Consent up to and including Application
No. B_10~89; and
iii) Applications for Minor Variance up to and including
Application No. A- 4/89
and may reduce the extent of the area covered by this By-law,
without further notice, and enact a new zoning by-law, where
applicable, to implement a Plan of Subdivision given draft
approval or a Consent or Minor Variance granted, pursuant to
the provisions of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1983, Chapter 1,
during the period within which this By-law is in effect.
5.
The provisions of this By-law shall apply for one year from
the date of its passage.
6. This by-law shall become effective on the date of its passage,
subject to the provisions of the Planning Act, S.D. 1983, as
amended.
