THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE
BY-LAW NO, 1992 - 52
BEING A BY-LAW to amend the Development Charges By-law for the Corporation of the Township
of Medonte,
WHEREAS the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Medonte passed By-law No, 92-
16 on the 23rd day of March, 1992, pursuant to the Development Charges Act, R.S.O, 1990, c,D,9
(hereinafter called the "Act");
AND WHEREAS Section 7 of the Act permits the Council of a municipality that has passed
a Development Charge By-law to amend the By-law;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Medonte has before it a
Study entitled "Township of Medonte Development Charges Act - Police Village of Hillsdale -
Supplementary Water Charge Study", which Study was prepared by Reid and Associates Limited, and
is dated August 24, 1992 (hereinafter referred to as the "Study"),
AND WHEREAS the Study was made available to the public and Council has given Notice in
accordance with Sections 4 and 7 of the Act of its development charges amendment proposal, and held
a public meeting in August 24, 1992;
AND WHEREAS the Council has heard all persons who applied to be heard in objections to,
or in support of, the development charges amendment proposal at the public meeting held on August
24, 1992;

AND WHEREAS, after giving due consideration to the comments and representations from the
public at the public meeting held on August 24, 1992 Council at its meeting of September 28, 1992,
approved the Study, as amended by the document entitled "Township of Medonte - Police Village of
Hillsdale - Addendum to Supplementary Water Charges Study", prepared by Reid and Associates
Limited and dated the 23rd day of September, 1992;
AND WHEREAS Council, in adopting the Study, as amended, directed that development
charges be imposed on land to be developed or redeveloped within the geographical limits of the Police
Village of Hillsdale as hereinafter provided;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. That Section 1 of the By-law No, 92-16 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following
subsection:
1.(37) "Hillsdale Water Service Area" means the lands designated in Schedule "C" hereto,
2, That Section 2 of By-law No, 92-16 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following
subsections:
2,(3) The development charges applicable to the Hillsdale Water Service Area, as set out in
the Schedule "B" hereto, are payable in accordance with the terms of this By-law in
addition to the balance of development charges as set out in Schedule "B",
2,(4) Notwithstanding the provisions of subsections (1) and (3), the development of a
residential building is exempt from that portion of the development charges calculates
for any particular service, if it is located outside of the boundaries applicable to such
service, as shown on Schedule "C" to this By-law.
3, That Section 17 of By-law No, 92-16 is hereby deleted and replaced with the following:
17,(1) The following Schedules to this By-law form an integral part of this By-law:
Schedule "A" - Designated Municipal Services
Schedule "B" - Schedule of Development Charges
Schedule "C" - Schedule of Hillsdale Water Service Area

That Schedule "B" of By-law No, 92-16 is hereby deleted and replaced with the Schedule
attached hereto as Schedule "A",

5. That the Schedule of the Hillsdale Water Service Area Attached hereto as Schedule "B" is
incorporated into By-law 92-16 as Schedule "C",
6. In all other aspects, the provisions of By-law 92-16 shall remain in full force and effect.
7, This By-law shall come into force and effect on the date of its enactment.
