1993-017 Medonte e e - It CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE BY-LAW 1993-17 BEING a By-law to regulate and prohibit the wrongful use of water. WHEREAS the Public Utilities Act, Chapter P.52, R.S.O. 1990 authorizes the Council of the Corporation to pass By-laws to regulate, supply, and to prohibit the wrongful use of water. AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township deems it advisable to set out conditions on which domestic water service shall be supplied to ratepayers. NOW THEREFORE, Council of the Corporation of the Township enacts as follows: (1) That this By-law shall apply to the Municipal Water System servicing plans M-I01 and M-123, known as the Robin Crest Subdivision. (2) That no owner shall connect to the system or relocate a service without having the work inspected by the Township. (3 ) That the owners of all properties shall keep their water line in good working order and repair, and if any non repair resul ts in a loss of water, the Township may enter upon private property and repair the private line and charge the cost to the owner of the property. (4) The Township does not deem the outside usage of water to fill swimming pools, or water lawns and gardens to be a domestic use and may from time to time regulate or prohibit such uses. (5) Notwithstanding paragraph 4 above, the Township recognizes the need to water lawns and gardens. Therefore, water used outside for these purposes shall be restricted to one (1) outside faucet between May 15th and September 15th in each year as set out below. One (1) outside faucet allowed between the hours of 5:00 A.M. and 8:00 A.M. and 7:00 P.M. and 11:00 P.M. on the designated calender days. Plan M-101 Plan M-123 Odd Calender Days Even Calender Days (6) The filling of swimming pools with water from a Municipal Water System is prohibited, however, an owner may occasionally top up a swimming pool during the outside water hours as set out in Section 5 of this By-law. e e e II 2 (7) It shall be an offence to perform any act which is contrary to the provisions of this By-law. Any person who is guilty of an offence pursuant to the provisions of this By-law is upon conviction, liable to a fine under Section 61 of the Provincial Offence Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter P.33.
