1987-012 Medonte Restriction of the Weight of Vehicles Passing over a Bridge
THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE
BY-LAW NUMBER 87- 12
RESTRICTION OF THE WEIGHT OF VEH.LCLES PASSING OVER A BRIDGE
WHEREAS subsection 104 b(2) of the Highway Traffic Act (R.S.O. 1980, c. 198 as
amended ) provides that:
The municipal corporation or other authority having jurisdiction over a
bridge may by bylaw approvedb,y the Ministry limit the gross weight of
any vehicle or any class thereof passing over such bridge, and the
requirements of subsection (1) with respect to the posting of notice thereto.

AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to limit the weight of vehicles passing over
a bridge in the Corporation of the Township of Medonte enacts as follows:
1) Within the Township of Medonte no vehicle or combination of vehicles or any
class thereof, whether empty or loaded, shall be operated over the bridges or
structures as listed below in column "A" where the gross vehicle weight
exceeds the total listed below in column fiB".

2) Any person violating the provisions of this by-law shall be subject to the
penalties provided in section 106 of the Highway Traffic Act.
3) This Bylaw shall not become effective until notice of the limit of weight
permitted in complaince with the regulations under the Highway Traffic Act
has been posted in a conspicuous place at each end of the bridge, and until
approved by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.
4) That By-Law 85-1 is hereby repealed.
