ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Thursday, November 8, 2001 - 7:00 p.m.
Oro-Medonte Administration Centre
Chair: Ruth Fountain called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Dave Knox, Brian Wiese, Ian Hunter, Catherine Riffer-Wessel,
Councillor Ruth Fountain and Councillor Harry Hughes
Staff Present: Chris Carter
1. Adoption of November 8, 2001 Agenda:
Moved by Brian Wiese; seconded by Chris Carter.
That the Agenda for the November 8, 2001 Recreation Advisory Committee be
adopted.
Carried.
2. Adoption of October 4, 2001 Minutes:
Moved by Dave Knox; seconded by Brian Wiese.
That the Minutes of the October 4, 2001 Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting be
adopted as printed.
Carried.
3. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest:
None.

4. Deputations:
The Recreation Advisory Committee approved the request from the Trail
?
Advisory Committee to see Bob Marshall (president) and members of the Oro-
Medonte Hiking Club take over the role of selling the Lake Country Rail Trail T-
shirts. It was agreed by members of the Oro-Medonte Hiking Club that all
monies received for the sale of the t-shirts, be donated back to The Trail Advisory
Committee for up-grades of Trail.
The Recreation Advisory Committee recommended four Motions:
moved by Ian Hunter; seconded by Dave Knox.
1.THAT Council accepts Bob Marshall of The Oro-Medonte Hiking Club the
role in selling of the T-shirts;
2.THAT the T-shirts sell for $15.00 each;
3.THAT Council donates 200 T-shirts to the Oro-Medonte Hiking Club;
4.THAT the Oro-Medonte Hiking Club receives acknowledgement for their
participation.

The Recreation Advisory Committee approved the request from the Trail

Advisory Committee to interact with Huronia Trails and Greenways (not-for-
profit charitable corporation) “Vehicle Recycling Program”.
The Recreation Advisory Committee recommended:
moved by Ian Hunter, seconded by Dave Knox.
1.THAT Council supports the Vehicle Recycling Program to be undertaken
by Huronia Trails and Greenways .

Learning new software and networking for new programs/events.

9. Other/New Business:
Julie Scott will supply a copy of the Parkland Secondary Study Update the week

of November 19, 2001 to review before meeting as a committee on December 6,
2001.
The Committee would like to know:
a.How much the Parkland Secondary Study costs?
b.What was the purpose of doing a Parkland Secondary Study?
Providing free ice rentals for Shanty Bay Public School students.
