ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
Wednesday, March 13, 2002 - 7:00 p.m.
Oro-Medonte Administration Centre
Chair: Ruth Fountain called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.
Present: Dave Knox, Brian Wiese, Ian Hunter, Catherine Riffer-Wessel,
Nadeen Morano, Councillor Ruth Fountain and Councillor Harry
Hughes
Staff Present: Jennifer Zieleniewski (C.A.O.), Marilyn Pennycook (Clerk), and
Chris Carter (Recreation Co-ordinator)
1. Adoption of March 13, 2002 Agenda:
Moved by Ian Hunter; seconded by Brian Wiese
That the Agenda for the March 13, 2002 Advisory Committee be adopted.
Carried.
2. Adoption of February 7, 2002 Minutes:
Moved by Brian Wiese ; seconded by Dave Knox
That the Minutes of the February 7, 2002 Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting be
adopted as printed.
Carried.
3. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest:
Nil.

5.New Business:
a)The Chair Announced the Hiring of Chris Carter as the Recreation Co-ordinator
for the Township of Oro-Medonte.
b)The Chair explained the procedure behind implementing the Hall board’s Roles
and Responsibilities.
c)Discussion took placer regarding the Committee Mandate, Goals and Objectives.
The Committee members expressed what they want to see happen within the
community.
d)It was recommended that the Parkland Secondary Study Minutes of February 21,
2002 be received and deferred until the next Recreation Advisory Committee
when Julie Scott (Innovative Perspectives) will be present.
Carried.

7. Co-ordinator’s Monthly Report:
Updated members about Summer program ideas and the great response
?
we had towards the March Break Day Trips.
Informed the Committee that partnership with surrounding Municipalities

for Summer Programs are being evaluated.
Informed the Committee that I was in discussion with Al Leach from Lake
?
Simcoe Conservation for implementing Artery Trails within the
Community.
