THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO
BY-LAW NO. 91-51
Being a By-Law to Provide for the posting of
Notices to Advertise Public Meetings under
the Planning Act
WHEREAS Council considers it advisable to make every effort
possible to inform the public of upcoming public meetings
regarding planning issues;
AND WHEREAS when changes in the zoning or official plan
designation of property relates to a single piece of property,
the property could be easily identified by a sign;
NOW THEREFORE Council for the corporation of the Township of Oro
hereby enacts as follows:
1. Applicants requesting Official Plan or zoning By-law
amendments be required to post a notice of such request
in the prescribed format and during the prescribed time
period on their property.
2. The notice referred to in Section 1 of this By-law
shall outline the nature of the application and details
of the public meeting relating to it.
3. zoning applications which are required as a condition
of consent or for conversion from Shoreline Residential
to General Residential shall be exempt from the
provisions of this By-law.
4. The notice provisions contained in this by-law are in
addition to the required notice provisions of the
Planning Act. The provisions for additional notice are
not meant to create an additional duty for the
municipality regarding giving notice.
5. This By-law shall come into effect as of the 1st day of
September, 1991.

READ a third time and finally passed this 15th day of July, 1991.
