Communications. etc. (a) Secretary presented a copy of a letter forwarded to Amanda Bagley in response to letter received after the last meeting. Letter requested reasons for the names of some of the Streets in Shanty Bay (Street names of some of the Streets in Shanty as shown on Plan M-66, Subdivision by So -Con Developments) Secretary advised that he had spoken to Amanda Bageley prior to forwarding the letter. (b) Presented a letter from Rosemary Dunsmore, Shanty Bay, member of the Oro-Medonte Trail Association, advising that the Association along with the Huronia Trails and Greenways are making a presentation to Oro-Medonte Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee on Thursday, March 7, 1996 at 7:15 p.m at the Township Administration Centre regarding the abandon- ment of the C.N. rail line from Barrie to Orillia 4./d asking Council's support in keeping C.Nright of way intact for future use as an all seasthn multi -recreational trail. Letter is to advise of the foregoing and inviting represent- atives from the Oro History Committee to attend add take. back the information to the Committee. (c) (d) 5. Old presented letter from G.Glen Parker with respect to tracing family ancestors. Some Correspondence in this regard had been previously forwarded last year as requested. Letter listing of early Oro settlers a3 they appeared in a History of Simcoe County, by Hunter. Two of the four names are shown on the mad, included in "Kith 'N' Kin", which are names of property owners as of 1871. Names referred to are around 1837. Letter also makes reference to relatives noted in immigrants list in Kith 'N' Kin, quoting certain pages. Letter makes enquiry as to source of information in the publication referred to and if so, where eight he find access to it.
