At the meeting of the Oro History Committee with the
Medonte Historical Society, held on August 25, 1993 at the
Township of Oro Administration Building, the matter of a Logo
for the new Township of Oro-Medonte was considered and fully
discussed and it was agreed by both Committee members as follows:
Wording - The Heart of Simcoe County - agreed to by all
Art. - the present used by each Township to be included
as the design - Ox and plow and Sheaf of wheat
Border - 50-5G s:,lit on border or edge of design - two types
of rope or coin edge
as well the abreviated wording Alm. (Almalgamated)
1994.
Three samples showing thewording - Township name and
year of amalgamation on each and the three different borders.
The enclosed samples are forwarded to Oro Council for
their approval and selection of border. The History Committee
prefer and suggest either of the rope borders, rather than
coin edge.
The three samples are being forwarded to the Medonte
Historical Society for their forwarding to the Medonte Township
Council for their approval, and subsequent selection and
approval by both:bthe present Councils for the new decal and Logo.

a part in the recommendation of the decal and Logo for the new
Township effective 1994.

Dear Mrs. Garbutt:
Further to the joint meeting held with the Township
of Oro History Committee held on August 25, 1993.
As agreed at the meeting it was left to the Chairperson
Loreen Lucas to prepare from the recommendations of the members
present a decal with wording, logo, amalgamation year and name
of the new Township. This has now been completed and three
samples are encleeed showing the three different borders, which
are to be presented to each Council for their consideration and
approval of one.
Accordingly would you kindly forward the three samples
to the Medonte Council with the recommendation df the Medonte
Historical Society, The Township of Oro History Committee have
today forwarded the three samples to the Council of the Township
of Oro for their approval and selection of one and then the
subsequent selection by both of the present Councils.
A copy of the letter forwarding the Samples to the
Township of Oro Council is enclosed for your information.
Trustinckthat you will be able to forward same to the Council
of the Township of Medonte in order thet the both Councils
may jointly select and approve one of the samples.
