Old and Unfinished Business
(a) Jadeen Henderson reported that Tim Crawford, Walter Hutchinson
and herself had attended the meeting scheduled by the Tourist
Association cn behalf of the Histcry Committee =s well as
Councillor Neil Craig. She summarized in detail what had taken
place. From the summation it would appear that the meeting
was negative and rather than assisting the Township with a means
of promoting the African Church for historic value, the HTA
appeared to indic'te that they wanted to assume promotion of
Old Business (cont'd)
the African Church as a Tourist attraction, open daily in the summer
and having a Student remain on the site. The members of the Committee
were not in favour of this suggestion, It was also felt that Councillor
Neil Craig was not in agreement with the suggestion by HTA. It also
appesred that members of HTA disagreed with some dates regarding the
history of the African Church. The resinration, upkeep and maintenane
of the building was apparently not referred to in a positive way.
