HISTORY COMMITTEE MEETING
September 11, 1995

4. Correstondence, Communications
(a) Presented letter from the Clerk of the Township advising that
Council have directed that Mrs. Beverley Hunter be appointed to
the the Township History Committee as recommended.
Secretary advised that Loreen (Rice) Lucas was to advise Beverley'
Hunter of the Committee Meeting - September 11, 1995.
Letter also advises that Complementary copies of the Story of Oro,
have been forwarded to the Schools as suggested. The four local
Oro Schools had previously received copies, so no additional
cosies had been forwarded at this time.
(b) Secretary presented copy of letter forwarded to Mr. Glen Parker,
Burlington, Ont., as directed at the June 12th meeting, forwarding
a Township mar indicating lot 10, Con. 9, the location of Knox
Presbyterian Church and Lot F 5, Con. 11, as re ueed in his
letter of June 4, 1995. ! Jc.„ty ei

Old or Unfinished Business
(a/Y Report of members attending at Mary Garbutt's Log Cabin on
July 10, 1995.
(b) Report cf members attending the Richards Farm Equir.ment second
annual Heritage Day on August 12, 1Q95.
(c) Report cn Committee members attending the Canada Day celebration
at Oro Memorial Park on July 1, 1995 and Display of antique
farm and household utensils.
(d) Report on Video Project.
(e) Secretary reported that the following ::ublications were sold
at the Knox Presbyterian Church annual Memorial Service on
June 25, 1995 (150th Anniversary) - 4 Story of Oro; 9 Hills
of Oro and 17 Knox p.ublications. Also that for the ocassion
the Knox Trustees had obtaned 12 dozen Plates to commemorate
the 150th year of the Church, and since had oredered 10 dos. more.
Preparation necessary for the Committe to attend and dislaY
artifax, antique tools and utensils and publications.
Have the Fair Board allocated a sl-ace on the Fairgrounds for
the Committee?
Do the Committee anticipate any input to the Oro-Medonte
New Official Flan.
