The Township of Oro History Committee met this evening as
scheduled by resolution of the last regular meeting of February
25th, 1987, with the following members present:

The meeting was opened by the Chairman, Howard
C;}r..pbell at 7:15 p.m.
Linutes
Tba.rniinutes of the last regular meeting held on February
725th and Special meeting of March 11, 1987, were on
la:otion of V1ter Hutchinson and Ruth Fraser adopted as
printed and received with one correction.
Business arising from the 1J.nutes of February 25th and Liarch llth.
(a) The matter of recommendation of number of copies to
be printed was reviewed and the following action
was taken:
On motion of Walter Hutchinson and seconded by Ruth
Fraser that the History Corrmitte confirm the recomendation
for 2500 copies of the Update of the Story of Oro.
(b) Ad Hoc I icture Committee Report
The Chairman reported on the progress of pictures
selected at several meetings of the Ad Hoc Committee
and made reference to various pictures to be added,
in particular the ones to be considered under the hedd-
ings of Communities. It would appear that approximately
170 pictures are available to be inserted. The Ad Hoc
Committee will be meeting again to further consider
other pictures.
(c) Wallace Key reported on Century Farms and advised that
hF had 5 more farms to be added to the list. Marlene
Iawdsley advised that she had two more farms to be
added and possibly one more.
Correstondence. Communications, etc.
(a) presented letter from ydministrAor/Clerk forwarding
resolution of Council on recommendation of the history
Committee for the acceptance of a quotation from
Dyment Stubbley Frinters Ltd. for the printing of the
Update df the Story of Oro for 2500 copies and 1987
budget request, advising that same had been referred
to the Budget Committee.

That the Administr tor/Clerk be authorised to extend
the employment of h_iss Lynne Lawdsley for an additional
two weeks, in order to allow her to tyre the #Story of
Oro Update" and further, her salary for these weeks be
includhd in the Oro History Committee Budget.
(b) Further letter from Ac'rr,inistr::tor%Clark forwarding
Council's resolution following Council Budget Committee
was not received since Council is meting this evening.
On motion of Joanna u.cEwen anr' Vallsce Key that the
Corr.esrondence and Communications as presented be
received and filed for reference.
Editor's Report
Joanna i,;cEwen advised that she had st rted to edit and that
the'.t in approximrtely six weeks material would be
ready for review by the Committee.
Other Business
It was moved by Ruth Fraser and seconded by karlenn
kawdsley that the History Committee recommend to
Council that the history Committee be authorized to
obtain a rrivcite ty;Jst to type the update of the
Story of Oro and further that Oro Council set an
hourly rate which may be paid to the typist, should
Council not have someone already selected for this
purpose.
Adjournment
It was moved by Jean Cameron and seconded by ..alter
Hutchinson that the meeting adjourn at 9:00 p.m. to
meet again on May 5th, 1987 at 7:30 p.m., subject
to the Council Chambers being available, uiiess
