M., ORO-MEDONTE TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY ARENA AND TOWNSHIP ADMINISTRATION CENTRE Present: Graham Nelson, Dave Knox, Barb swanson, Bill Groves, Councillor Walter Dickie, Councillor Ron sommers, staff Present: Kim Allen, Anne Brousseau Regrets: Deborah Broderick (Master Mittermayer, Nancy stoddart Plan Meeting), Tara The Committee met at the Township of Oro-Medonte Community Arena where they were given a tour of the new boards, ceiling, and resurfacer by Manager Kim Allen. Following the tour The Order of Business resumed at the Township Administration Centre as follows. 1. Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest and the General Nature Thereof - In Accordance with The Act: None stated. 3. Adoption of the Agenda. Moved by Graham Nelson, seconded by Walter Dickie That the Agenda for the Recreation Advisory Committee for October 3,1996 be approved as printed and circulated with the addition of the following: 4. Invitation from the Scott Family, reI dedication of parkland in memory of Lloyd Scott. Disposition of the september 5, 1996 Recommendations to Council: There were no recommendations to Council emanating from the September 5, 1996 Recreation Advisory Committee meeting. 6. a) . . . Correspondence: a) An invitation from the Scott Family was read by the Chairman, reI dedication of parkland in memory of Lloyd Scott at Sprucewood Estates at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 1996. Received for information. 7. Director's Monthly Report: Kim Allen, Recreational Facilities Manager, presented the Director's monthly report on behalf of Deborah Broderick who was attending a meeting with the master plan consultant and the community halls regarding the Recreation Master Plan. a) Public Meeting Dates, Master Plan: The Committee was informed of the following public meeting dates: - Thursday, Oct. 24, 1996 6:30 p.m., Moonstone School - Tuesday, Oct. 29, 6:30 p.m., Administration Centre Committee members were encouraged to attend these meetings which will be chaired by consultant Donna Hinde. The purpose of the meetings is to discuss the analysis of properties, facilities and programs with the public. Advertisements will be placed in the local papers and notices will be circulated to local community groups. It is intended that those attending will be divided into small discussion groups. A written report summarizing the discussions will be prepared by the consultants and it is expected this summary will be available to the Committee at the November meeting. b) Deeds and agreements containing a "sole exclusive use" clause have been forwarded to the Township Solicitor for legal interpretation and a reply is expected in the near future. . . . October 3, 1996 c) Dave Knox updated the Committee on the status of a meeting which had taken place with the Moonstone and District Recreation Committee. The Moonstone Committee had indicated that they regarded the establishment of a community hall a priority. The suggestion that consideration be given to joint use of the Eady Hall by the Moonstone and Eady Hall groups had not been well received. The Moonstone Committee had again been advised that the Township will need to review the recommendations emanating from the Master Plan before any decisions regarding the former Medonte Administration Building, and the community halls in general, can be made. 8. Committee Chairman's Report: None. 9. Questions: Graham Nelson inquired whether there is any intent to submit a capital budget prior to the end of the year. Kim Allen advised that staff are currently in the process of preparing capital project requests. The Committee was advised that Mayor Beard is making substantial progress in his convalesence following surgery. 10. Adjournment.
