to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, under provisions of section
34, of the Planning Act. The applicant has applied to rezone
certain lands, Part of Lot 27, Plan 882, Concession 8, known as Par
1, RP 51R-24233, to permit permanent residential use.
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro-
Medonte have not made a decision on this application, other than
proceeding to this Public Meeting. Only after comments are receive
from the Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on September 29, 1994,
to all property owners within 120 metres of the subject lands.
Mayor Robert Drury then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by
indicating that no correspondence had been received.
The Mayor then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner
Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed
Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Kris Menzies:
Thank you Mr. Mayor. As the Mayor has stated the subject property
is located on Pt. Lot 27, Plan 882 in the former Township of Oro.
The purpose of tonights meeting is to afford Council the opportunit
to hear public comment on the rezoning prior to making a decision.
The purpose of the "rèzoning is to rezone the subject property from
shoreline residential designation which allows for a single family

dwelling unit of seasonal occupancy only, to a general residential
zoning in order to permit a single family dwelling unit that allow
for year round occupancy. The Official Plan policies foresee this
type of use and it is commonly referred to as a Conversion. The
subject property adheres to the minimum frontage and the minimum
area for such a conversion and the only other requirement prior to
this office being in a position to recommend favourably, other tha
the public meeting, is to receive Health Unit comments and to date
we have not received those as yet Mr. Mayor.
Mayor Drury:
Thank you. Any questions or comments on the proposed amendment
before us this evening from the public?
There being no questions or comments, when being called for the
third time, the Mayor in closing the meeting, thanked those in
attendance for their participation and advised that Council would
consider all matters before reaching a decision. He then advised
those present that if they wish to be notified of the passing of t
proposed By-law, they should leave their name and address with the
Clerk.
