THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
COUNCIL MEETING
WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1,1997
TIME: 7:00 P.M.
ONE HUNDRED & NINETEENTH MEETING 1994-1997 COUNCIL
Council met this evening @ 7:00 p.m. with the following members present:

Mayor Ian Beard assumed the chair and called the meeting to order, followed by prayer.

THEREOF - IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ACT"
None.
2. RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENTS
Mr. Don Bell was recognized by Mayor Beard for the work done on the
Plowing Match. Staff was acknowledged and congratulated for efforts over
the last three years as well as the members of Council for all their hard work.
3. CONSENT AGENDA CORRESPONDENCE
(a) Mike Vandergeest, Livestock Valuer, Report re: 1 calf killed by wolves. Calf
owned by Glenn Clark, Lot 9, Conc. 5 (Medonte).
Recommendation: Receive and the Treasurer be authorized to make
compensation to Glenn Clark in the amount of $375.00.

Library Week.

September 24,1997.

(a) Jeff Brydges, Deputy Treasurer, report re: Release of Security, Ian & Lori
Webb.
Deputy Mayor Martin requested that those persons running for the upcoming
municipal election not use road side signage in order to protect the environment.

Be it resolved that the correspondence from the Orillia Public Library, re: requesting
proclamation of Ontario Library Week, be received and the Council of the Township of
Oro-Medonte proclaim October 20 to 26, 1997 as Ontario Library Week in the Township
of Oro-Medonte.

Be it resolved that the correspondence from Allandale Veterinary Hospital, re: Rabies
Clinic, Thursday, October 9, 1997, be received and permission be granted to hold the
clinic at the Oro-Medonte Garage on October 9th, 1997 upon confirmation by Roads
Superintendent that the facility is available.

Wednesday, September 24,1997, be received and the recommendations adopted as
amended.

Be it resolved that The Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte adopt the Background
Study and Analysis and Recommendations and Implementation Report as the Parks
and Recreation Master Plan and policy of the Township of Oro-Medonte.

Be it resolved that a By-law to designate certain plans of subdivision not to be registered
plans of subdivision within the meaning of The Planning Act RS.O. 1990 c. P. 13, as
amended, be introduced and read a first and second time and numbered By-law No.97-
71.
Carried.
That By-law No. 97-71 be read a third time and finally passed, be engrossed by the
Clerk, signed and sealed by the Mayor.

read a first and second time and numbered By-law No. 97-72.
