Council met this evening @ 7:04 p.m. with the following members present:

Mayor Ian Beard assumed the chair and called the meeting to order, followed by prayer.

3. RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENTS:
The outstanding team of Councillor Sommers and Councillor Craig were successful in
obtaining the trophy at the Elmvale Log Sawing contest.
4. CONSENT AGENDA CORRESPONDENCE:
(a) Waste Management Advisory Council, Correspondence of April 1,1998 re: Keith
Mathieson.
Recommendation: Receive and file.
(b) Report of Livestock Valuer of April 19, 1998 re: sheep killed by wolf. Sheep owned
by Heather and Gary Zulak.
Recommendation: Receive and treasurer be authorized to compensate Heather
and Gary Zulak in the amount of $450.00.

Be it resolved that the Agenda for the Council Meeting dated Wednesday, May 6, 1998,
be adopted as printed and circulated with the addition of the following:

Be it resolved that the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held, Wednesday, April
15, 1998 be adopted as printed and circulated.

Be it resolved that the recommendations listed on the Consent Agenda, Item 7, be
received and adopted.

Be it resolved that Report No. RDS98-07 by Jerry Ball, Roads Superintendent and
Debbie Broderick, Director of Recreation & Community Economic Development re:
Tender Contracts as follows: RDS98-01(Supply of Fuel), RDS98-02 (Calcium Chloride),
RDS98-03(Gravel Crushing), RDS9805 (Slurry Seal), RDS98-06 (Winter Sand),

Be it resolved that the Ontario Provincial Police, Barrie Detachment correspondence re:
Rate of Speed in School Zones be received, and further that Council supports the
reduction of a speed zone to 40 km/hr. in the Village of Shanty Bay to include the school
zone, and that the County of Simcoe be so advised.

Be it resolved that a By-law to authorize borrowing be introduced and read a first and
second time and numbered By-law No. 1998-48.
Carried.
That By-law No. 1998-48 be read a third time and finally passed, be engrossed by the
Clerk, signed and sealed by the Mayor.

Be it resolved that a By-law to confirm the Proceeding of Council be introduced and
read a first and second time and numbered By-law No. 1998-49.
Carried.
That By-law No. 1998-49 be read a third time and finally passed, be engrossed by the
Clerk, signed and sealed by the Mayor.
