THIRTEENTH MEETING 1997-2000 COUNCIL Council met this evening @ 7:00 p.m. with the following members present: Present: Mayor Ian Beard Deputy Mayor Don Bell Councillor Lillian McConnell Councillor Ralph Hough Councillor Neil Craig Councillor Ron Sommers Councillor Ruth Fountain Absent: Staff Present: Jeff Brydges, Acting Treasurer Also Present: Shirley Woodrow, Terry Hardy, President, Ainley & Associates Ltd., Colin Kent, Vice-President, Ainley & Associates Ltd., Joe Mullan, Sr. Engineer, Barrie Office, Ainley & Associates Ltd. Mayor Ian Beard assumed the chair and called the meeting to order, followed by prayer. 1. "DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF - IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ACT" None Declared. 2. DEPUTATIONS: a) 7:05 p.m. Colin Kent, Joe Mullen and Terry Hardy of Ainley & Associates provided information to Council regarding the firm of Ainley & Associates and the services that can be offered through their company, and particularly through their Engineering Department. 3. RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENTS: None. 4. CONSENT AGENDA CORRESPONDENCE: (a) Don Walker, Warden, St. George's Fairvalley Church, correspondence re: Road Maintenance. (b) Minutes of the Economic Development Steering Committee meeting held Thursday, April 9, 1998. 8. UNFINISHED OR NEW BUSINESS: Motion No. 1 Moved by Craig, Seconded by Fountain Be it resolved that the Agenda for the Council Meeting dated Wednesday, May 20, 1998, be adopted as printed and circulated. Carried. Motion No. 2 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Craig Be it resolved that the minutes of the Special Public Meeting held Wednesday, March 4, 1998 re: rezoning - P-16T/97 - Conc. 13, Part of Lot 19 (Oro) be adopted as printed and circulated. Carried. Motion No.4 Moved by Sommers, Seconded by Fountain Be it resolved that the Minutes of the Regular Council Meeting held, Wednesday, May 6, 1998 be adopted as printed and circulated. Carried. Motion No. 5 Moved by Craig, Seconded by Sommers Be it resolved that the recommendations listed on the Consent Agenda, Item 7, be received and adopted. Carried. Motion No.6 Moved by Hough, Seconded by McConnell Be it resolved that Report No. 98-12, Regular Committee of the Whole meeting held Wednesday, May 13, 1998 be received and the recommendations adopted. Carried. Motion No. 7 Moved by McConnell, Seconded by Hough Be it resolved that the Minutes of the Economic Development Steering Committee meeting held Thursday, April 9, 1998 be received. Carried. -4- Motion No.8 Moved by Hough, Seconded by Bell Be it resolved that a By-law to appoint a Building Inspector/By-law Enforcement Officer be read a first and second time and numbered By-law No. 1998-50. Carried. That By-law No. 1998-50 be read a third time and finally passed, be engrossed by the Clerk, signed and sealed by the Mayor.
