DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF: -IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ACT. None declared. 2. DEPUTATIONS: 10:15 a.m. Mr. Harvey and Mr. Card addressed Council regarding a request to reduce the taxes over a number of years on Mr. Harvey's property. The position of Mr. Harvey through his solicitor Mr. Card is that a large amount of industrial waste material leaked from a neighbour's property to Mr. Harvey's property beginning in 1988. The MOEE become involved and an order was made to remove the material, which was not complied with and a conviction was obtained. A mandatory order was obtained to remove the material. As Mr. Harvey feels and Mr. Card indicated, their position is that the subject land has been detrimentally affected and the taxes should be reduced from 1988 to 1995. -2- 3. Card and Mr. James Harvey, re: request for a reduction of taxes for years 1988 through 1995 be referred to the Tax Collector for a report to Council. Carried. Motion No. 10 Moved by Hough, seconded by McConnell It is recommended that the memorandum from Nick McDonald, The Planning Partnership re: Tariff of Fees By-law be received and adopted and that the Planning Department be directed to prepare an amendment to the Tariff of Fees By-law for Council's consideration at the June 3, 1998 Council Meeting. That the Township of Oro-Medonte Administration Centre becomes a smoke-free workplace effective Monday, May 18, 1998.
