Len Hassberger, Barrie O.P.P., Sgt. Kern Scott Mayor Beard chaired the meeting and called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. Council recessed for lunch @ 12:15 p.m. and reconvened @ 1:35 p.m. 1. DISCLOSURE OF PECUNIARY INTEREST AND GENERAL NATURE THEREOF: - IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ACT. None. 2. DEPUTATIONS: a) 9:05 a.m. Deputation cancelled at the request of the applicant. b) 9:10 a.m. Staff Sgt. Len Hassberger and Sgt. Kern Scott provided information to Council on: how estimated costs are determined; the value of entering into a contract; daily activity report; the contract costing process; Police Services Board; adequacy standards; and a break down of status quo vs contract. 3. Motion No. 17 Moved by McConnell, Seconded by Craig It is recommended that Confidential Report No. ADM98-51 from Lynda Aiken, Clerk, re: Potential Land Purchase be received and adopted, and that the request be denied, and further that the applicant be advised to consider submission of an appeal to the assessment on the subject land. Motion No. 18 Moved by Hough, Seconded by McConnell It is recommended that Confidential Report No. ADM98-53 from Lynda Aiken, Clerk, re: Potential Land Sale be received and adopted, and that the subject land be declared surplus to the needs of the municipality and an appraisal of the land be obtained, and further that Council establish the selling price of the land following the appraisal. Motion No. 19 Moved by Craig, Seconded by McConnell It is recommended that Confidential Report No. ADM98-54 from Lynda Aiken, Clerk, re: Potential Land Purchase, North Oro Industrial Park, be received and adopted, and that the offer to purchase the subject land be declined and the applicant be advised to place the land on the open market, and further that the Community Economic Development Committee be advised of same.
