FORTY-SEVENTH MEETING 1997-2000 COUNCIL
Council met this evening @ 7:05 p.m. with the following members present:

Mayor Ian Beard assumed the chair and called the meeting to order, followed by
prayer.

Recommendation: Receive and file.
b) Murray J. Martin, Publisher, North Simcoe Community News, correspondence
re: Remembrance Day tribute page.
Recommendation: Receive and file.
c) Murray J. Martin, Publisher, North Simcoe Community News, correspondence
re: "Ground Vetch" as a possible Millenium project.
Recommendation: Receive and refer to Millenium Committee for
consideration.

Recommendation: Receive, and the Treasurer be authorized to

Be it resolved that the recommendations listed on the Consent Agenda, Item 6,
be received and adopted.

Be it resolved that the City of Barrie Police Services Board be requested to
advise the Township of Oro-Medonte if the Board would be interested in
competing in a tender process for Police Services to Oro-Medonte, and further
that the City of Barrie Police Services Board advise the Township of Oro-
Medonte of the structure of the Board with respect to representation on the
Board.

Be it resolved that Report No. ADM99-73 by Jennifer Zieleniewski,
CAO/Treasurer, re: Community Profile be received and adopted, and that the
Community Profile become available via the Internet as well as in print copy.

Be it resolved that the correspondence from Claude Guillemette, Chair, Rural
Ontario Municipal Association and P. Jeffrey Seaton, President, Ontario Good
Roads Association re: 2000 Combined Conferences be received, and Deputy
Mayor Bell, Councillor Sommers and Councillor Craig be authorized to attend
and all related costs be assumed by the municipality.

Be it resolved that the correspondence from Wayne R. Wilson, CAO/Secretary-
Treasurer, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority re: Matched Funding to
Ontario Conservation Authorities be received, and the Township of Oro-Medonte
supports the resolution of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority in
recommending that the province re-establish its partnership with the
Conservation Authority programs by providing matched funding for all programs
mandated by the Conservation Authorities Act.

Be it resolved that the correspondence from Brian W. Knott, Director of Legal
Services/Clerk, Municipality of Chatham-Kent re: Competitiveness of Agri-Food
Sector be received, and the Township of Oro-Medonte does support the
resolution of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

re: Victoria Village Inc. be received, and the Township of Oro-Medonte does

Be it resolved that a By-law to accept an Easement over certain lands within the
Township of Oro-Medonte be introduced and read a first and second time and
numbered By-law No. 1999-112.
Carried.
That By-law No. 1999-112 be read a third time and finally passed, be engrossed
by the Clerk, signed and sealed by the Mayor.

Be it resolved that a By-law to confirm the proceedings of the Regular Council
Meeting held on Wednesday, October 20, 1999 be read a first and second time
and numbered By-law No. 1999-113.

That By-law No. 1999-113 be read a third time and finally passed, be engrossed
by the Clerk, signed and sealed by the Mayor.
