Public Meetings: a) Notice of Receipt of Complete Applications; Notice of Particulars and Public Access; Notice of Public Meeting for Proposed Amendments to the Official Plan and Zoning By - Law of the Township of Oro-Medonte, Part of Lot 1, Concession 5, 2018-OPA-01 & 2018-ZBA-13 (1911745 Ontario Limited). Deputy Mayor Hough called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m. and explained the public meeting is being held in accordance with Sections 17, 22 & 34 of the Planning Act, to obtain public comment with respect to proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications. The purpose of Application 2018-OPA-01 is to amend the "Horseshoe Valley — Resort Facility" designation to permit the development of a commercial plaza on the subject lands. The purpose of Application 2018-ZBA-13 is to rezone the subject lands from the "Agricultural/Rural Exception 15 Zone" to "Local Commercial Exception Zone" to permit the development of a commercial plaza. Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed to landowners within 120 metres of the specified site, circulated to the appropriate Agencies and posted on the Township's website on or before July 5, 2018. The following correspondence was received: Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority dated July 17, 2018; Township of Oro-Medonte, Building Division dated August 10, 2018; Township of Oro-Medonte, Manager, Development Engineering dated August 13, 2018; Enbridge Gas Distribution dated August 20, 2018; Township of Oro-Medonte, Operations Division dated August 21, 2018; Lynn Johnson dated September 5, 2018. Derek Witlib, Manager, Planning Services, explained the purpose and effect of the proposed amendment. A PowerPoint presentation was presented. Ray Gingras, one of the applicants, was present. Katherine Obradovich was also present. The following public persons offered verbal comments with respect to the proposed amendment: Ian Veitch provided comments in support of the application with respect to the use, accessibility, and improvements to the lands. Ann Truyens provided comments with respect to a positive project and concerns regarding the location of the entrance, sightlines, tree removal concerns, entrance across from the Firehall concerns, the lack of shoulders on the road and potential need for a turning lane. Ami Patterson provided comments in support of the application, traffic concerns, and potential of roundabouts.
