Agenda Approval: a) Motion to Approve the Agenda. Motion No. HC171120-1 Moved by Moore, Seconded by Fountain It is recommended that the agenda for the Heritage Committee meeting held on Monday, November 20, 2017 be received and approved. 2. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting: a) Minutes of Heritage Committee meeting held on Monday, October 23, 2017. Motion No. HC171120-2 Moved by Thibeault, Seconded by Moore It is recommended that the draft minutes of Heritage Committee meeting held on Monday, October 23, 2017 be received and approved as printed and circulated. Carried. 4. Deputations: None. 5. Communications: a) Correspondence dated October 19, 2017 from Fugitive Slave Chapel Preservation Project (FSCPP) re: Oro African Church. Motion No. HC171120-3 Moved by Thibeault, Seconded by Whiston It is recommended 1. That the correspondence dated October 19, 2017 from Fugitive Slave Chapel Preservation Project (FSCPP) re: Oro African Church be received and referred to staff for a response. 2. That the correspondence be forwarded to Tim Crawford for his information. Carried. Motion No. HC171120-4 Moved by Thibeault, Seconded by Whiston It is recommended 1. That the correspondence dated November 1, 2017 from Priscilla Giroux, Commemoration Learning Officer, Veterans Affairs Canada re: Request for Cenotaph Information at Oro-Medonte Fairgrounds be received. 2. And That the appropriate information be forwarded to Veterans Affairs Canada under the Coordinator, Community Recreation's signature. Carried. c) Correspondence received November 7, 2017 from Community Heritage Ontario (CHO) re: CHO Quarterly Publication, Autumn, 2017 and 2018 Membership Renewal Form. That the correspondence received November 7, 2017 from Community Heritage Ontario (CHO) re: CHO Quarterly Publication, Autumn, 2017 and 2018 Membership Renewal Form be received. 2. And That the CHO membership be renewed for 2018 for the Heritage Committee. Carried. Motion No. HC171120-6 Moved by Whiston, Seconded by Thibeault It is recommended 1. That the correspondence dated November 8, 2017 from Donna Goodwin, Cultural Development Co-ordinator, Tourism Simcoe County, County of Simcoe re: Doors Open Simcoe County be received. 2. That it is recommended to Council that the Township of Oro-Medonte express their interest to the County of Simcoe in participating in a County Wide Doors Open Program. 3. That Council consider a budget allocation of $1,500 for Doors Open during the 2018 budget deliberations to be included in the Grants/Subsidy account. 4. And That staff proceed accordingly. Carried. 6. Reports of Members of Council/Municipal Officers: a) Councillor Jermey, Chair re: Index of Register of Heritage Listed/Designated Properties. Motion No. HC171120-7 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Thibeault It is recommended 1. That the information presented by Councillor Jermey, Chair and Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation re: Index of Register of Heritage Listed/Designated Properties be received. And That it is recommended to Council that the following be Municipal Register of Municipally Significant and/or Cultural 1. St. Luke's Anglican Church - Price's Corners; 2. Stable at West Oro Baptist Church. listed and added to the Heritage Properties: Carried. Motion No. HC171120-8 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Whiston It is recommended 1. That the correspondence dated November 17, 2017 from Erin Semande and Thomas Wicks, Ontario Heritage Trust and presented by Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation; and information from Susan Woods and Fred Beck, re: Designation of Oro African Church and St. Thomas Anglican Church - Shanty Bay be received. 2. And That the Heritage Committee and staff continue to work on the designation process. Carried. c) Councillor Jermey, correspondence dated November 13, 2017 from John Merritt re: Orillia Museum of Art & History - History Committee. Motion No. HC171120-9 Moved by Moore, Seconded by Whiston It is recommended that the correspondence dated November 13, 2017 from John Merritt re: Orillia Museum of Art & History - History Committee and presented by Councillor Jermey be received and referred to staff for a response.
