5. Public Meetings:
a) Notice of Receipt of a Complete Application, Notice of Particulars and Public
Access, Notice of Public Meeting for a Proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law
of the Township of Oro-Medonte, Lot 8, Plan 860, 2679 Lakeshore Road East,
Application 2017-ZBA-11 (Doug & Kim Campbell).
Deputy Mayor Hough called the meeting to order at 5:33 p.m. and explained the public
meeting is being is being held in accordance with Section 34 of the Planning Act to
obtain public comment with respect to a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment
Application. The purpose of Application 2017-ZBA-11 is to permit a Bed and Breakfast
Establishment.
Notice of the Public Meeting was circulated to the appropriate Agencies and posted on
the Township's website on or before September 27'", 2017.
The following correspondence was received: Township of Oro-Medonte, Manager,
Development Engineering dated September 27, 2017; Lake Simcoe Region
Conservation Authority dated September 28, 2017; Simcoe County District School
Board dated September 28, 2017; Rima and Norman Biback dated October 12, 2017;
Cathie Bass dated October 30, 2017; Dean Blaine dated November 1, 2017; Paul
Sanderson dated November 1, 2017.
Derek Witlib, Manager, Planning Services, explained the purpose and effect of the
proposed amendment. A PowerPoint presentation was presented.
Doug Campbell, applicant, was present.
The following public persons offered verbal comments with respect to the proposed
amendment:
Dean Blaine provided comments regarding his submitted correspondence. Comments
included concern with permanent zoning by-law amendment and potential less
responsible future owners, zoning/official plan concerns, larger lot sizes in the Township
vs. smaller lot sizes in the area in accordance with the application; introducing an
amendment in a residential area; precedent setting, zoning by-law is correct in terms of
where B&B's are now allowed, use, enjoyment and privacy of properties.
There being no further comments or questions, the meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
