Agenda Approval: a) Motion to Approve the Agenda. Motion No. HC161121-1 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by O'Donnell It is recommended that the agenda for the Heritage Committee meeting held on Monday, November 21, 2016 be received and approved; And That the correspondence from Paul Marshall dated November 19, 2016 with respect to Item 6c) Potential Historical Buildings be received. Approval of Minutes of Previous Meeting: a) Minutes of Heritage Committee meeting held on October 17, 2016. Motion No. HC161121-2 Moved by Moore, Seconded by O'Donnell It is recommended that the draft minutes of Heritage Committee meeting held on October 17, 2016 be received and approved as printed and circulated. Carried. 4. Deputations: None. 5. Communications: a) Correspondence received November 9, 2016 from Community Heritage Ontario (CHO) re: 2017 Membership Renewal Form and CHO Quarterly Publication, Autumn, 2016. Motion No. HC161121-3 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Moore It is recommended 1. That the correspondence received November 9, 2016 from Community Heritage Ontario (CHO) re: 2017 Membership Renewal Form and CHO Quarterly Publication, Autumn, 2016 be received. 2. Motion No. HC161121-4 Moved by O'Donnell, Seconded by Moore It is recommended that the verbal information presented by Councillor Crawford, re: Municipal Heritage Register Policy, Potential Listing, Historical Summary for Little Brick Church of Oro Station be received. Carried. b) Councillor Crawford re: Municipal Heritage Register Policy, Potential Listing, 8 Lakeshore Road East. Hexagon Concrete Silo, 354 Line 8 South. Motion No. HC161121-7 Moved by Moore, Seconded by O'Donnell It is recommended 1. That the correspondence and verbal information presented by Councillor Jermey, re: Municipal Heritage Register Policy, Potential Listing: 1. Hobart Memorial Church, 2. Hexagon Concrete Silo, 354 Line 8 South. be received. 2. And That it is recommended to Council that the 1. Hobart Memorial Church, 2. Hexagon Concrete Silo, 354 Line 8 South. be listed and added to the Municipal Register of Municipally Significant and/or Cultural Heritage Properties. Carried. e) Councillor Jermey re: Fair Valley Church, National Historic Site. Motion No. HC161121-8 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by O'Donnell It is recommended 1. That the correspondence from Parks Canada re: National Historical Sites of Canada and verbal information presented by Councillor Jermey re: Fair Valley Church, National Historic Site be received. 2. That Daphne Mainprize/Don Ross be invited to our January meeting to speak on pursuing Fair Valley as a National Historic Site. 3. And That Tim Crawford be invited as well. Carried. Oro African Methodist Episcopal Church. Motion No. HC161121-9 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Moore It is recommended 1. That the verbal information presented by Councillor Jermey, re: Municipal Heritage Register Policy, Potential Designation: - St. Thomas Church, Shanty Bay; - Oro African Methodist Episcopal Church. be received. 2. And that information on St. Thomas Church be researched and brought forward to the January meeting of the Heritage Committee. Carried. g) Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation, correspondence received September 27, 2016 from Tim Crawford re: Time Capsule at Oro African Church. Motion No. HC161121-10 Moved by Moore, Seconded by O'Donnell It is recommended 1. That the verbal information presented by Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation, correspondence received September 27, 2016 from Tim Crawford re: Time Capsule at Oro African Church be received. 2. That the matter be brought back to a future Heritage Committee meeting once confirmation is received from the County of Simcoe. 3. And That Tim Crawford be advised of the Heritage Committee's decision under the Coordinator, Community Recreation's signature. Carried. Motion No. HC161121-11 Moved by O'Donnell, Seconded by Fountain It is recommended 1. That the correspondence received October 26, 2016 from Karen Way, Deputy Clerk, Township of Springwater and presented by Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation re: Doors Open be received. 2. That it is recommended to Council that the applicant be advised that the Heritage Committee is interested to participate in 2017. Carried. i) Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation re: Documentation Offer from Tim Crawford. Motion No. HC161121-12 Moved by Moore, Seconded by O'Donnell It is recommended 1. That the verbal information presented by Roz Llewellyn, Coordinator, Community Recreation re: Documentation Offer from Tim Crawford be received. 2. That it is recommended to Council that Tim Crawford's documentation offer be accepted. 3. And That staff coordinate the process with Tim Crawford. 4. And That an audiotape/videotape recording of Tim Crawford's presentation to a tour group at the Oro African Church be created, if Tim Crawford is agreeable. Carried. 7.
