5. Public Meetings:
a) Notice of Receipt of a Complete Application, Notice of Particulars and Public Access,
Notice of Public Meeting for a Proposed Draft Plan of Subdivision and Amendment to the
Zoning By -Law of the Township of Oro-Medonte, Part of West Half of Lot 6, Concession
(Medonte), Township of Oro-Medonte, 2016 -SUB -02 & 2016-ZBA-05 (South Shore
Caden Estates Inc.)
Deputy Mayor Hough called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. and explained the public
meeting is being held in accordance with Section 34 and 51, of the Planning Act, to
obtain public comment with respect to proposed Development Applications. The
purpose of Application 2016 -SUB -02 is to consider a proposal for a Draft Plan of
Subdivision comprised of 50 single detached dwellings. The purpose of Application
2016-ZBA-06 is to consider a proposal to amend the Zoning By-law for the lands from
the current Agricultural/Rural Exception 15 (A/RU*15) Zone to the Residential One (R1)
Zone.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed to landowners within 120 metres of the
specified site on June 21, 2016 and a notice sign was posted on the subject property on
or before June 21, 2016.

The following correspondence was received: Township of Oro-Medonte, Environmental
Services Division dated June 14, 2016; Hydro One dated June 27, 2016; Barry Rix
dated July 7, 2016; Frances Thompson dated July 12, 2016.
Andy Karaiskakis, Senior Planner, explained the purpose and effect of the proposed
amendment. A PowerPoint presentation was presented.
Josh Morgan, Morgan Planning & Development, agent on behalf of applicant, was
present.
The following public persons offered verbal comments with respect to the proposed
amendment:
Barry Rix provided comments with respect to a stone boundary fence and when fencing
is to be done, he would like to make further comments as the detailed engineering, to
date, has not been completed. Comments were also provided regarding the soccer
field boundary fence and the potential flooding from the pond.
Jean Claude provided comments with respect to confirmation of start/completion and
timing of dates.
John Rumball provided concerns regarding drainage beside his property, potential tree
damage and loss of sound, dust and wind barrier, construction dust control and
easement/road widths and lengths.
Deputy Mayor Hough advised that additional deputations to the Committee or Council
regarding this application may be permitted, but only for the introduction to new
information not already presented through the Public Meeting process.
