By-law No. 2015-193
A By-law to Amend Zoning By-law 97-95, as amended
"General Amendment for Temporary Parking for Special Events"
Whereas the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro-Medonte is empowered
to pass By-laws to regulate the use of land pursuant to Section 34 of the Planning Act,
R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13.
And Whereas Council deems it appropriate to amend the zoning provisions of By-law
97-95, in accordance with the policies of the Official Plan;
Now Therefore the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte hereby enacts as follows:
1. New Section 5.39 — TEMPORARY PARKING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS — is hereby
amended by adding a new subsection as follows:
"5.39 TEMPORARY PARKING FOR SPECIAL EVENTS - Notwithstanding any other
provision of this By-law, the temporary and short term parking of motor vehicles is
permitted in the Agricultural/Rural (A/RU) Zone subject to the following requirements:
a) The temporary and short term parking of motor vehicles is associated with and
accessory to a Special Event that has obtained the required Permit for a Special
Event from the Township of Oro-Medonte;
b) The temporary and short term parking of motor vehicles on a lot or property shall
not occur for more than five (5) consecutive days;
c) The temporary and short term parking of motor vehicles on a lot or property is not
permitted overnight and does not include camping;
d) The temporary and short term parking of recreational vehicles on a lot or property
is not permitted; and
e) The location of the temporary and short term parking of motor vehicles for a special
event is not located on lands designated in a Prime Agricultural Area as defined in
the Provincial Policy Statement."
2. This By-law shall take effect on the final passing thereof, subject to the provisions
of the Planning Act, as amended.
By-law read a First, Second and Third time, and Passed this 4t" day of November,
2015.
