e) Public Meeting for Proposed Amendments to the Official Plan and Zoning By -Law,
544 and 556 Line 11 North, Part of the East Half of Lot 17, Concession 11 (Oro)
Township of Oro - Medonte 2013- OPA -01 & 2013 - ZBA -12 (SCS Leasing /Shelswell
Excavating & Grading Ltd.).
Deputy Mayor Hough called the meeting to order at 7:44 p.m. and explained the public
meeting has been called under the authority of the Planning Act, Sections 22 and 34,
R.S.O. 1990 c. P.13, to obtain public comment with respect to a proposed Amendments
to the Official Plan and Zoning By -law, Applications 2013- OPA -01 and 2013 - ZBA -12
(SCS Leasing /Shelswell Excavating & Grading Ltd.), 544 and 556 Line 11 North, Part of
the East Half of Lot 17, Concession 11 (formerly in the Township of Oro), now in the
Township of Oro - Medonte.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed to landowners within 120m (400 feet) of the
specified site on February 14, 2014 and a sign posted on the subject property on
February 19, 2014. The Public Meeting notice was also posted on the Township's
website on February 19, 2014.
The following correspondence was received at the meeting: Lake Simcoe Region
Conservation Authority dated February 24 and January 22, 2014; County of Simcoe
dated February 26 and January 17, 2014; Tim Crooks received March 10, 2014; Sheila
and Dave Kirkland received March 10, 2014; Joshua Morgan, Morgan Planning &
Development Inc.; Craig Shelswell, Morris Shelswell & Sons Excavating & Grading Ltd.,
Henry and Reta Regelink, Big Curve Acres Farm dated March 12, 2014; Shirley Guitard
dated March 11, 2014.
Derek Witlib, Manager, Planning Services, explained the purpose and effect of the
proposed amendment. A PowerPoint presentation was presented.
The following public persons offered verbal comments with respect to the proposed
amendment: Helen Perry; Joshua Morgan, Morgan Planning & Development Inc. on
behalf of Russ and Diane Thornton (distributed pictures to members of Council); Russ
(2x); Tim Crooks (distributed pictures to members of Council); Diane Thornton, Mark
Leigh, Jack Smith, Mary Jean Crawford, Craig Shelswell.
Deputy Mayor Hough advised that no additional deputations to Council will be permitted
with respect to the proposed amendment.
