TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro-Medonte will hold a
Public Meeting on Wednesday March 112, 2014 at 7015 pm in the Municipal Council Chambers.
The purpose of the Public Meeting is to obtain public comments on a proposed Amendment to the
Zoning By-law, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. P. 13.
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Zoning By-law Amendment is to amend the zoning of the lands
located at 498 Moon Point Drive and described as Part Lots 15 & 16 Concession 3, South Orillia,
& Part Road Allowance between Lots 15 & 16, Concession 3 South Orillia Part 2, Plan 51 R
34471, in the Township of Oro-Medonte. The subject lands are presently zoned Agricultural/Rural
(A/RU) and Environmental Protection (EP).
The proposed Amendment would rezone the lands to a Private Recreation Exception (PRS ) Zone
for the purposes of:
1. Recognizing and permitting the use of the lands for a recreation/leadership camp that has
operated on the lands since 1929; and
2. Recognizing the setbacks of existing buildings and structures from Moon Point Drive.
A KEY MAP illustrating the location of the subject lands is included with this notice.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in
support of, or in opposition to, the proposed Amendment. If a person or public body that files an
appeal of a decision of the Township of Oro-Medonte in respect of the proposed Amendment does
not make oral submission at the Public Meeting, or make written submissions to the Township before
the proposed Amendment is adopted, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or pari of the
appeal.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Township of Oro-Medonte in respect to the proposed
Zoning By-law Amendment, you must make a written request to the address below.

property currently zoned Agricultural/Rural (A/RU) and Environmental Protection (EP), to

Township of Oro-Medonte, County of Simcoe
Thank -you for consulting with the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority (LSRCA)
with regard to the above noted Zoning By -Law amendment. The LSRCA has reviewed
this application for consistency with the Provincial Policy Statement (PPS) and
conformity with the Lake Simcoe Protection Plan (LSPP). It should also be noted that
part of the subject lands are governed by Ontario Regulation 179/06 under the
Conservation Authorities Act.
Based on our review, the subject property contains Key Natural Heritage Features
(significant woodland and natural areas abutting Lake Simcoe) and a Key Hydrologic
feature (watercourse) as defined by Designated Policies (DP) 6.21 and 6.22 of the
LSPP. On this basis we recommend that the Private Recreation Exception (PR*) zone
only apply to the southern section of the property where the leadership camp exists.
Further, the Key Natural Heritage Features in the north section of the property should
be zoned Environmental Protection (EP) through this rezoning process as shown on the
attached map.
