Mayor Ian Beard chaired the meeting.
Mayor Ian Beard opened the meeting by explaining to those present
that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments with
respect to a proposed zoning By-Law Amendment, under provisions of
section 34, of the Planning Act. The applicant has applied to
rezone certain lands, Lot 24, Plan 863, Concession 10, former
Township of Oro, to permit permanent residential.
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro-
Medonte have not made a decision on this application, other than
proceeding to this Public Meeting. only after comments are
received from the Public, requested agencies and Township Staff,
within the appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on
this application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on December 29, 1994,
to all property owners within 120 metres of the subject lands.
Mayor Beard then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by
indicating that no correspondence had been received.
The Mayor then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township
Planner, Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the
proposed zoning By-Law Amendment.

Thank you, Mr. Mayor. The Mayor has identified the property as
located on Lot 24, Plan 863, Concession 10 in the former Township
of Oro. The purpose of tonight's Public Meeting is to allow
Council to hear any public comment on the application prior to
making a decision. The rezoning is from the Shoreline Residential
Zone to the General Residential Zone. The intent of the rezoning
is to permit a Conversion so a single family dwelling unit of
seasonal occupancy which is currently permitted now under the
Shoreline Residential zoning will be converted, if the proposal is
approved by Council, to a single family dwelling unit of year-round
occupancy. There are several criteria in the Oro Official Plan
which must be adhered to prior to the Planning Department making
favourable recommendation to Council. Those are my comments, Mr.
Mayor.

Council wishes to thank all those in attendance for your
participation and will consider all the matters before reaching a
decision. If anyone wishes to be notified of the passing of the
proposed By-law, would they please leave their name and address
with the Clerk.

Be it resolved that this Special Meeting of Council (Lot 24, Plan
