Pettitt, Bud Arbour. Mayor Ian Beard chaired the meeting. Mayor Ian Beard opened the meeting by explaining to those present that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments with respect to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, under provisions of section 34, of the Planning Act. The applicant has applied to rezone certain lands, Part of Lot 4, Concession 8, former Township of Oro, to recognize a new residential use and to satisfy a condition of the Committee of Adjustment. To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro- Medonte have not made a decision on this application, other than proceeding to this Public Meeting. Only after comments are received from the Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this application. Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on December 29, 1994, to all property owners within 120 metres of the subject lands. Mayor Beard then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating that no correspondence had been received. The Mayor then stated that those persons present would be afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner, Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment. I 8 8 , I' , . .. - 2 - Rris Menzies Thank you, Mr. Mayor. The property is located on West Part of Lot 4, Concession 8 in the former Township of Oro. It fronts on the 7th Concession Road. The purpose of tonight's meeting is to allow Council to hear public comment on the rezoning prior to making a decision on whether or not it should be approved or denied. The reason that the application is coming before Council, is that the applicant applied previously to the Committee of Adjustment for a severance. That severance was conditionally granted and one of the conditions was that the property be rezoned to more appropriately reflect its use. Current zoning on the property is Agriculture; the proposed zoning is Rural Residential and the intended use is for a single family dwelling unit and the Committee was of the opinion, following the policies of the Council of Oro-Medonte, that it would be more appropriately rezoned to a residential use and thus, the applicant has asked for the Rural Residential rezoning.
