Mayor Ian Beard chaired the meeting.
Mayor Ian Beard opened the meeting by explaining to those present
that this Public Meeting was to receive public comments with respect
to a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment, under provisions of section
34, of the Planning Act. The applicant has applied to rezone certain
lands, Lot 2, Plan 864, Concession 14, former Township of Oro, to
permit permanent residential use.
To date, the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro-
Medonte have not made a decision on this application, other
proceeding to this Public Meeting. Only after comments are
from the Public, requested agencies and Township Staff, within the
appropriate time period, will Council make a decision on this
application.
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on December 29, 1994, to
all property owners within 120 metres of the subject lands.
Mayor Beard then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence
received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating that no
correspondence had been received.
The Mayor then stated that those persons present would be afforded
the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed
Amendment. He then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner,
Ms. Kris Menzies, to explain the purpose and effect of the proposed
Zoning By-Law Amendment.

experience in dealing with these conversions, that the Health unit
typically requires identification I guess we could say, from the
Municipality that, in fact you have, being the applicant, made
application. Typically, their first written knowledge of that is the
Notice, which we send out to yourself and your neighbours. The
Notice requirement is mandated in The Planning Act. It is a very
short time period for most agencies to be able to get the notice in
the mail, go through their paperwork and mail something back to us.
So, it is not uncommon in my experience in the Municipality for the
Health unit not to be able to comment before this evening's meeting. I
But, we will get a hold of the Health unit within the next couple of
days and we will have that information before the Planning Department
comments to council on it.
Bert Fine I
So the onus will be on you, I don't have to do anything further onl[
that?
,
Kris Menzies
No, we will contact them for you sir.
Mayor Beard
Are there further questions or comments from the people in the
audience, or from Council? Again I will ask, are there any further
comments?
I
Council wishes to thank all those in attendance for yourl
participation and will consider all the matters before reaching al
decision. If anyone wishes to be notified of the passing of thel
proposed By-law, would they please leave their name and address withl
the Clerk. II
