NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING
FOR PROPOSED AMENDMENT
TO THE ZONING BY -LAW
OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO- MEDONTE

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro - Medonte will hold a Public
Meeting on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers. The purpose of
the Public Meeting is to obtain public comments on a proposed Amendment to the Zoning By -law, under
Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. P. 13.
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Zoning By -law Amendment is to amend the zoning of the lands
described as Part of Lot 25, Concession 5, formerly in the Township of Oro, municipally known as 767
Line 4 South, located on the east side of Line 4 South, in the Township of Oro - Medonte. The subject
lands are presently zoned Agricultural /Rural (A/RU) and Environmental Protection (EP) Zone. The
portion of the lands presently zoned Agricultural /Rural (A/RU) is proposed to be rezoned to a site - specific
Agricultural /Rural (A/RU) Zone to prohibit a residential use and to recognize: a lot size for a hobby farm
of 0.6 hectares (1.5 acres), a rear yard setback of 12.2 metres (40 feet) to an agricultural building, a lot
coverage of 12.3 percent by detached accessory buildings and a detached accessory building with a
floor area of 139.35 square metres (1,500 square feet). This application is required as a Condition of
Consent Application 2012 -B -28 approved by the Committee of Adjustment in December 2012.
A KEY MAP illustrating the location of the subject lands is provided below.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support
of, or in opposition to, the proposed Amendment. If a person or public body that files an appeal of a decision
of the Township of Oro - Medonte in respect of the proposed Amendment does not make oral submission at
the Public Meeting, or make written submissions to the Township before the proposed Amendment is
adopted, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal.

R. Prohibit a residential use on the retained farm land;
o Recognize, on the several parcel, a lot size of 0.6
hectares (1.4 acres) for a hobby farm, a rear yard
setback of 12.2 metres (40 feet) to an agricultural

agriculture and hobby farms.

Agricultural /Rural and Environmental Protection.

• The severed hobby farm has a frontage of approximately 96
metres (315 feet) on Line 4 South and occupies an area of
approximately 0.6 hectares (1.4 acres. The lands contain a
single detached dwelling, an agricultural building and an
accessory building.
• The retained farm land has combined frontages of
approximately 377 metres (1236 feet) along Line 4 South and
occupies an area of approximately 46.7 hectares (115.6 acres).
The lands do not contain any buildings and appear actively
farmed.
