1996-051ATHE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE BY-LAW NO. 96- 51(a) To provide for the Erection of Yield Right-of-Way Signs at Intersections WHEREAS paragraph 7 of Section 314 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M.45, provides that the councils of all municipalities may pass by-laws to provide for placing, regulating and maintaining upon the public highways traffic signs for the purposes of guiding and directing traffic; AND WHEREAS subsection 138(2) of the Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.H.8, provides that: No yield right-of-way sign shall be erected except in compliance with the regulations under the Highway Traffic Act. NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Township of Oro-Medonte enacts as follows: 1. The intersections on highway set out in Column 1 are designated as intersections where yield right -of -way signs shall be erected at the locations shown in Column 2. Column 1 Intersection Bass Lake Sideroad East and Line 13 North Column 2 Facing Traffic Eastbound and westbound on Bass Lake Sideroad East 2. The penalties provided in section 214 of the Highway Traffic Act shall apply to offenses against this bylaw. 3. Each designation made by section 1 shall not become effective until yield right -of -way signs have been erected in accordance with the regulations of the Highway Traffic Act. 4. That this by-law shall come into force and take effect on the date of its final passing. READ a first and second time this 15th day of May, 1996.
