TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro - Medonte will hold a Public
Meeting on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at 7:15 p.m. in the Municipal Council Chambers. The purpose of
the Public Meeting is to obtain public comments on a proposed Amendment to the Zoning By -law, under
Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990 c. P. 13.
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Official Plan Amendment is to re- designate the lands described as 715
Line 13 North, being West Part of Lot 13, Concession 14, Part 2, 51R -20687 (formerly Oro Township).
The lands are proposed to be re- designated from the Oro Moraine Core /Corridor Area and Oro Moraine
Enhancement Area to a Site Specific Oro Moraine Core /Corridor Area and Oro Moraine Enhancement
Area in order to permit a "Class A Kennel use ".
THE PURPOSE of the proposed Zoning By -law Amendment is to rezone the lands described as
Concession 14, West Part of Lot 13, municipally known as 715 Line 13 North in the Township of Oro -
Medonte. The subject lands are presently zoned Agricultural /Rural (A/RU) Zone, Environmental
protection (EP), and Mineral Aggregate Resources Two (MAR2) and are proposed to be rezoned to allow
for a "Class A Kennel" use to be operated on the property.
A KEY MAP illustrating the location of the subject lands is provided below.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either in support
of, or in opposition to, the proposed Amendment. If a person or public body that files an appeal of a decision
of the Township of Oro - Medonte in respect of the proposed Amendments does not make oral submission at
the Public Meeting, or make written submissions to the Township before the proposed Amendments is
adopted, the Ontario Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Township of Oro - Medonte in respect to the proposed Official
Plan and Zoning By -law Amendments, you must make a written request to the address below.

Biography and standards of care
❖ I am a retired teacher and a breeder of Miniature Schnauzers under the
Brandenburg prefix. I have trained Miniature Schnauzers for over 25 years and
have been breeding since 2000.
❖ I currently own 7 dogs, 2 males and 5 females, 4 of whom are currently being
shown and/or bred.
❖ I am a member of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Canadian and American
Miniature Schnauzer Clubs. In addition to being Canadian Champions and
involved in the St. John Ambulance Pet Therapy Program, my dogs are titled in
competitive Obedience, Agility, Flyball and Rally Obedience. These credentials
confirm that I am a responsible dog owner, trainer and breeder.
❖ Although no longer active due to financial reasons, I was also the sole operator of
Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Ontario for more than 15 years, involved in the
rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming of over 250 purebred Miniature Schnauzers in
eastern Canada.
❖ I breed 1 or 2 litters a year.
❖ I offer a lifetime health guarantee against serious hereditary or congenital defects.
My contract includes mandatory Obedience classes and a return -to- breeder clause
in case the dog must be rehomed.
Physical Kennel Management
❖ My dogs live in my house. There are no external dog runs or kennel buildings nor
will there ever be.
❖ Animal waste is confined to a fenced area, grass and concrete patio stones,
measuring approximately 12 by 40 feet. Most of this area is located under an
existing deck with a ceiling height of 10 feet. Waste is picked up twice daily. The
dogs produce a "kitchen bag" of waste per week which is disposed of in regular
garbage pickup.
❖ As I am always either with my dogs or quite nearby when they are outside,
nuisance barking is never an issue.
❖ My property is buffeted from the neighbours by a 25 foot cedar hedge on the
north and a row of tall pines and a field on the south. The house sits on nearly 5
acres of land.
❖ Stamina exercises and other types of training take place on a one -on -one basis in
my rear yard which measures approximately 150 feet wide by 75 feet deep.
❖ The dogs have full access to the house, which measures approximately 1200
square feet.
Business plan
❖ Because I am not only a breeder but a trainer and an active participant in many
competitive dog sports, my intention is to never exceed the maximum of 8 dogs in
order to maintain my high quality of breeding and training and to comply with the
regulations of Kennel Level 1. I take pride in my dogs' accomplishments and their
temperament and excellent soundness, as evidenced in these performance titles,
are the best advertising I could ever have.

may be permitted in the Agricultural designation subject to an
amendment to the implementing Zoning By -law" subject to
Council's satisfaction that specific criteria are met, thereby
