1996-103 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE BY-LAW NO. 96- 103 Being a By-law to Amend By-Law No. 91-91 of the former Township of Oro, a By-Law with Respect to the Imposition of Development Charges WHEREAS the Township of Oro, the Township of Medonte and portions of the Townships of Vespra, Flos and Orillia became the Township of Oro-Medonte under Bill 51, the County of Simcoe Act, 1993 an Act respecting the restructuring of the County of Simcoe given Royal Assent in December 1993; AND WHEREAS Council of the former Township of Oro passed By-Law No. 91-91 with respect to the imposition of development charges under Subsection 3(1) of the Development Charges Act, 1989; AND WHEREAS Section 7 (1) of the Development Charges Act, 1989 provides that the council of a municipality that has passed a development charge by-law may amend the by-law; AND WHEREAS pursuant to section 4 and 7 of the Development Charges Act, 1989 notice was placed in The orillia Packet and Times, The Barrie Examiner and The Midland Free Press on Friday, September 27, 1996; AND FURTHER a Public Meeting was held Wednesday, October 16, 1996 to provide sufficient information to the public; AND WHEREAS Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte deems it appropriate to amend By-Law No. 91-91 of the former Township of Oro; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte enacts as follows: 1. That section 21 of By-Law No. 91-91 of the former Township of Oro shall be deleted and replaced with the following: 21. That the non-residential portion of the development charge fee shall not come into place nor take effect during the term of this by-law. 2. That this By-Law shall come into force and take effect from the date of its final passing subject to the approval of the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
