THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
BY-LAW NO. 98- 27
Being a By-law to Appoint Members to the Oro-Medonte Recreation Steering
Committee.
WHEREAS pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Act and Regulations
made under the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation Act, Council may appoint a
Recreation Committee.
AND WHEREAS it is now deemed desirable to appoint Members of the Oro-
Medonte Recreation Steering Committee;
NOW THEREFORE the Council for the Corporation of the Township of Oro-
Medonte enacts as follows:
1. That the Purpose of the Oro-Medonte Recreation Steering Committee is to
receive public comment on specific issues and to make recommendations to
Council that seek to provide an equitable allocation of resources for parks,
facilities and programs and services.
2. That the specific objectives of the Oro-Medonte Recreation Steering
Committee are:
a) To receive public comments on specific recreational or park issues
through the process of public meetings, Open Houses, and specific
focus group workshops.
b) To make recommendations to Council through the Recreation Steering
Committee's minutes to Council for Council's consideration.
c) To assist staff in the collection of data specific to recreation and park
issues that Council has considered for the term of Council.
d) To review and comment on draft documents prior to their presentation
to Council.
e) To comment and make recommendations on other recreation and park
issues arising over the term of Council.
3. That the Director of Recreation and Community Economic Development will
initiate and develop the materials for the Committee and will assist the
members to achieve their specific objectives.
4. That the committee be comprised of two members of the public, two
members of Council and the Mayor as ex-officio.
5. That the following people are appointed members of the 1997-2000 Oro-
Medonte Recreation Steering Committee for the term of Council at the
pleasure of Council and/or until their successors are appointed, and are
otherwise eligible for appointment:

6. That persons appointed to the Recreation Steering Committee will be paid
remuneration and expenses as Council provides.

7. That By-law No. 95-02 of the Township of Oro-Medonte be repealed.
8. That this By-law will come into full force and effect on the final passing
thereof.
