THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
BY-LAW NO. 99-124

Being a By-law to confirm acquisition and transfer, to dedicate and assume certain land as
a public highway and to provide for the giving of names to highways within the Township
of Oro-Medonte
WHEREAS the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.MA5, Section 191(1) authorizes the Council of a
municipality to pass by-laws for acquiring any lands required for the purposes of the
municipality;
AND WHEREAS the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, c.MA5, Section 297, pennits the council of
every municipality to pass by-laws for establishing and laying out highways;
AND WHEREAS Section 210(111) of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, Chapter MA5, as
amended, provides authority for Councils of Local Municipalities to pass by-laws for giving of
names to highways and for affixing the names at the comers thereof, on public or private
property;
AND WHEREAS Council of The Corporation of the Township ofOro-Medonte deems it
expedient to confirm the acquisition of the lands being Part of Block A, Part of Block B, and Part
of Lots 18 and 19, South Side of Davis Street, and Part of Davis Street, McVity Street, King
Street and Carthew Street, Registered Plan No. 1 (geographic Township of Oro), now Township
ofOro-Medonte, County of Simcoe, designated as Parts 1,2 and 3 on Reference Plan 51R-26796
and being Part of Lot 1, Concession 1, East ofPenetanguishene Road (geographic Township of
Oro), Township ofOro-Medonte, County of Simcoe and designated as Parts 1,2 and 3 on
Reference Plan 51R-26885;
AND WHEREAS Council of The Corporation of the Township ofOro-Medonte deems it
expedient to confirm the transfer to the abutting owners the lands being Part of Blocks A and B
and Part of Lot 18, South Side of Davis Street and Part of King Street, Carthew Street and
McVity Street and Part of Davis Street, Registered Plan 1, Township ofOro-Medonte
(geographic Township ofOro), County of Simcoe, designated as Parts 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14
on Reference Plan 51R-28161 and being Part of Block A, North Side of Davis Street and Part of
Lots 18 and 19, South Side of Davis Street and Part of Davis Street, McVity Street and King
Street and Part of O'Brien Street, Registered Plan 1 and Part of Georgina Drive, Registered Plan
1561 and all of Lot K, Registered Plan 663 and Part of West Half of Lot I, Concession 1,
Township of Oro, now in the Township of Oro-Medonte, County of Simcoe, designated as Parts
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17, 18, 19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,
30,31 and 32 on Reference Plan 51R-28451;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to dedicate and assume the land owned by The
Corporation of the Township ofOro-Medonte for use as a public highway;
AND WHEREAS in the interest of public safety, Council deems it necessary to give names to
highways in the Township of Oro-Medonte;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of The Corporation of the Township ofOro-Medonte hereby
enacts as follows:

That Council of The Corporation of the Township ofOro-Medonte hereby confirms the
acquisition of the lands described as follows:
Part of Block A, Part of Block B, and Part of Lots 18 and 19, South Side of Davis
Street, and Part of Davis Street, McVity Street, King Street and Carthew Street,
Registered Plan No. 1 (geographic Township of Oro), now Township of Oro-
Medonte, County of Simcoe, designated as Parts 1,2 and 3 on Reference Plan
51R-26796 and being Part of Lot 1, Concession 1, East ofPenetanguishene Road
(geographic Township of Oro), Township of Oro-Medonte, County of Simcoe and
designated as Parts 1,2 and 3 on Reference Plan 5IR-26885.

That Council of The Corporation ofthe Township ofOro-Medonte hereby confirms the
transfer to the abutting owners of the lands described as follows:
Part of Blocks A and B and Part of Lot 18, South Side of Davis Street and Part of
King Street, Carthew Street and Mc Vity Street and part of Davis Street,
Registered Plan I, Township ofOro-Medonte (geographic Township of Oro),
County of Simcoe, designated as Parts 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 and 14 on Reference
Plan 51R-28161 and being Part of Block A, North Side of Davis Street and Part of
Lots 18 and 19, South Side of Davis Street and Part of Davis Street, McVity
Street and King Street and Part of O'Brien Street, Registered Plan I and Part of
Georgina Drive, Registered Plan 1561 and all of Lot K, Registered Plan 663 and
Part of West Half of Lot I, Concession I, Township ofOro, now in the Township
ofOro-Medonte, County of Simcoe, designated as Parts 1,2,3,4,5,6, 7, 8, 9,
10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17, 18, 19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26,27,28,29,30,3]
and 32 on Reference Plan 51R-28451.
3. That the lands described in Section 1 above, save and except the lands described in
Section 2 above shall be deemed to be assumed and dedicated for use as a public
highway.
4. That the lands deemed to be assumed and dedicated for use as a public highway and
referenced in Section 3 above, shall be named Barrie Terrace and being those lands
westerly from Part 28 on Reference Plan 51R-28451 and those lands east from Part 28 on
Reference Plan 51R-28451 shall be named Georgina Drive. The name shall be affixed at
every affected intersection thereof on public property except that where it is not practical
to affix the name on public property it shall be affixed on private property.
5. That this By-law shall come into force and effect on the date of its passing.
By-law read a first and second time this 1st day of December, 1999.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 1 st
day of December, 1999.
