Motion No. CW-12 Moved by Marshall, Seconded by Dickie It is recommended that the correspondence from the City of Barrie rei Ontario Court of Justice, Provincial Offences, Judicial Resources be received and that the resolution be endorsed stating: . "Her Majesty the Queen in the Right of Ontario, as represented by the Attorney General (herein referred to as "the Attorney General") and the Chief Judge of the Ontario Court of Justice be requested to undertake immediate actions to appoint additional Justice of the Peace resources to the Central East Region, and in particular, to the Barrie and Orillia Court Service areas and return all Provincial Offences Court and related Intake Court services to at least the standard maintained by the Ministry of the Attorney General prior to transfer. Particularly, with respect to Intake Court Services, that a Justice of the Peace be available for Provincial Offences Court matters Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. in both the Barrie and Orillia Court Service area. And Further That, the Attorney General and the Chief Judge of the Ontario Court of Justice immediately consider additional appointments of Justices of the Peace in the Barrie Court Service Area to permit an increase in the number of trial court days in order to facilitate a fair and timely process to the public requesting a trial. 5 , ,II. I I 'I I II T And Further That, the Attorney General and the Chief Judge of the Ontario Court of Justice consider the use of per-diem Justices of the Peace throughout the Province to assist in circumstances of temporary illness, leave, etc. in order to ensure that access to the justice system to the public and enforcement agencies is not negatively impacted. Motion No. CW-16 Moved by Craig, Seconded by Hughes It is recommended that WHEREAS the Township of Oro-Medonte is experiencing substantial growth together with an increased demand for police presence in the community; ¡, . NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved that the Commissioner of Ontario Provincial Police be petitioned to provide policing services to the entire township of Oro- Medonte exclusively by the Barrie Detachment while retaining the option of operating without a formal contract; AND FURTHER, that the Commissioner of Ontario Provincial Police give consideration to guiding the community toward expedient implementation of the exclusive delivery of Police Services through the Barrie Detachment.
