TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro - Medonte will
hold a Public Meeting on Wednesday, January 27, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal
Council Chambers. The purpose of the public meeting is to obtain public comments on a
proposed amendment to the Zoning By -law, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O.
1990 c. P. 13.
THE PURPOSE of the Zoning By -law Amendment is to rezone one lot for the purposes
of establishing a Bed and Breakfast as per the policies of the Official Plan.
A KEY MAP illustrating the location of the subject lands is provided below.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation
either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Amendment. If a person or public body
that files an appeal of a decision of the Township of Oro - Medonte in respect of the
proposed Amendment does not make oral submission at the public meeting or make written
submissions to the Township before the proposed Amendment is adopted, the Ontario
Municipal Board may dismiss all or part of the appeal.
If you wish to be notified of the decision of the Township of Ora - Medonte in respect to the
proposed Zoning By -law Amendment, you must make a written request to the address
below.

from the Agricultural /Rural Zone to an Agricultural /Rural Exception Zone to permit the
property to be used for Bed and Breakfast purposes.
Elementary students residing in this area are bussed to W.R. Best Memorial Public School
and secondary students will be bussed to Eastview Secondary School.

o Purpose of Meeting - To obtain public comments on a proposed
amendment to the Township's Zoning By -law 97 -95, as amended. The
Proposed Zoning Amendment would apply to lands described as Part of
Lot 5, Concession 6, Former Township of Oro, municipally known as 478
Bass Lake Sideroad West, Township of Oro - Medonte.
o Zoning Application 2009- ZBA -24, is to rezoned land to permit the
establishment of a Bed & Breakfast. The site is currently zoned
Agricultural/ Rural (A/ RU). The Official Plan requires a rezoning
application prior to establishing a Bed & Breakfast. A site specific A/ RU
exception zone is proposed.

o Official Plan designation: "Oro Moraine - Enhancement
Area". Bed & Breakfast establishment permitted.
o The proposed amendment to the Zoning By -law to rezone
the subject lands to "Agricultural/ Rural Exception" Zone
would be consistent the Official Plan designation and
reflect the future intended Bed & Breakfast establishment.
o The existing lot meets the area and frontage requirements
of the "Agricultural/ Rural" Zone.
o There is adequate space to accommodate extra parking.

Township departments regarding proposed rezoning
