1. OPENING OF THE MEETING BY MARILYN PENNYCOOK, CLERK.
Marilyn Pennycook, Clerk, opened the meeting at 10:15 a.m.
2. SELECTION OF CHAIRPERSON.

That the Chairperson for the 2004 Citizen of the Year Advisory Group be Betty
Veitch as voted by the Advisory Group.

3. ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA.

Moved by Patricia Shellswell, Seconded by Evelyn Reid
That the Agenda for the 2004 Citizen of the Year Advisory Group meeting of
Monday July 5, 2004 be received and adopted.

4. ADOPTION OF MINUTES OF CITIZEN OF THE YEAR COMMITTEE
MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 2003.

Moved by Morris Shelswell, Seconded by Alastair Crawford
That the minutes of the Citizen of the Year Committee meeting held Wednesday,
July 7, 2003 be received as printed and circulated.

5. PRESENTATION OF LETTERS OF NOMINATION AND DISCUSSION RE:
NOMINEES.

6. VOTING.
A vote was taken by ballot which resulted in a tie-vote.

That a second vote be held for 2004 Citizen of the Year.

It is recommended to Council that the 2004 Citizen of the Year be Marion Wright
as voted by the Advisory Group.

That Allan Sinton be second runner-up for 2004 Citizen of the Year and that this
nomination be brought forward to 2005.
Carried.
7. FURTHER BUSINESS.
The Advisory Group suggested that next year's meeting be held in June on a
Monday.
It was also suggested to send the reminder letters earlier with a follow-up
telephone call to each member to ensure attendance.
