PLEASE BE ADVISED that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Oro-Medonte is considering
proposed amendments to the Township's Official Plan. The purpose of the proposed amendments to the
Official Plan is to complete a conformity exercise to ensure the Township's Official Plan is consistent with the
Provincial Policy Statement (2005), the Province's Places to Grow Growth Plan (2005), and the County Official
Plan (adopted November 2008) and to provide Council with the most appropriate policies for directing growth
and change for the next 20 years.
An initial public meeting has been scheduled for Monday June 22 at 8:00 p.m. in the Municipal Council
Chambers. The intent of the Public Meeting is to inform residents of the Official Plan review process approved
by Council for 2009-2010 and to obtain input from residents regarding potential policy amendments to be
considered by Council during the review. A copy of the current Township Official Plan is posted on the
Township website or is available for review at the Township office.
A copy of the Staff Report DS 2009-019 and Work Plan are posted on the Township website under "Planning
Initiatives" or can be obtained at the Township office through the Planning Division between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30
p.m. at the Township of Oro-Medonte Administration Building, 148 Line 7 South, P.O. Box 100, Oro, Ontario

We are the solicitors for Johnson Construction Ltd. and John Johnson. Our client is the owner of a
significantly sized parcel of land in Hawkestone (Assessment Roll No. 43 46 010 01122700). Our client
intends to develop this parcel.
Our client has been the owner of this parcel of land since 1989, at which point a plan of subdivision
application was submitted for the site. This application is still open and active and will be perused in the
near future.
The property is currently designated Hawkestone Expansion Area in the Township's Official Plan. It is
our understanding that the Township is in the process of reviewing the Official Plan, and there exists the
possibility of removing development approvals on the property. Please be advised that our client would
like to officially state that he is opposed to any action which would have the effect of hindering the
development of the property.
A planning consultant has been retained to assist in expediting the draft plan application, as well as
protecting development rights to the property.
