2000-016 I!." ~' THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE BY-LAW NO. 2000-16 A By-law to Provide for the Posting of Notices to Advertise Public Meetings under the Planning Act . WHEREAS Council considers it advisable to make every effort possible to infonn the public of upcoming public meetings regarding planning issues; AND WHEREAS when changes in the Official Plan and Zoning By-law relate to a single piece of property the property could be easily identified; AND WHEREAS provisions are provided in the Planning Act for the Municipality to require the posting of a notice of public meeting for an Amendment to the Official Plan or Zoning By-law; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Applicants requesting amendments to the Official Plan or Zoning By-law be required to post a notice of such request in the prescribed fonnat and during the prescribed time period on their property . 2. The notice referred to in Section 1 ofthis By-law shall include the following: . The date, time, and location of the public meeting . An explanation of the purpose and effect of the proposed Official Plan or Zoning By- law Amendment (wording to be approved by the Township Planner) . When and where additional infonnationlbackground materials are available . How to obtain a copy ofthe written notice of the public meeting 3. Appendix "A", attached, fonns part ofthis by-law. 4.
