2000-028 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE BY-LAW NO. 2000-28 Being a By-law to establish a Committee for the purpose of fundraising . WHEREAS Section 102 of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990, Chap. MA5, as amended provides that every council may pass such by-laws and make such regulations for the health, safety, morality and welfare of the inhabitants of the municipality; AND WHEREAS Section 102(1) provides that the council of a municipality may, by by-law, delegate to a committee of councilor to an employee of the municipality any powers, duties or functions that are administrative in nature. AND WHEREAS the vision of the Township ofOro-Medonte is to build a four season, shared- use recreational trail for residents and visitors of Oro-Medonte; AND WHEREAS the long-tenn direction of the Township ofOro-Medonte is for the trail to be self-sustaining; AND WHEREAS funds are required by the Township of Oro-Medonte for the development of the trail as a four season, shared-use recreational trail; AND WHEREAS Council deems it appropriate to fonnally establish the Trail Fundraising Committee and to delegate to volunteers the administrative duties and functions related to the task of raising funds; NOW THEREFORE Council of the Township ofOro-Medonte hereby enacts as follows: 1. That the Trail Fundraising Committee shall be established as a volunteer Committee of Council. 2. That the aforementioned committee shall be delegated administrative duties and functions related to raising funds for the development of a four season, shared-use recreational trail. 3. That Carl Thomas, Bob Burnie and Rosemary Dunsmore are hereby appointed as volunteers to the Trail Fundraising Committee. 4. That this by-law shall come into full force and effect on the final passing thereof. By-law read a first and second time this sth day of April, 2000.
